II've just been moving some files around on my hdd and one second my hdd was there the next it was gone im running windows 10 any help would be well appreciated

then look in disk managment see if it is there and has a drive letter assigned to it

where the windows logo is bottom left right click it and select disk managment

No it has disappeared from there

if its not even showing up in disk manangment it might be dead,

make sure its connected properly check all connections on it and try again

Thanks for the great advice I've only had it about a year and half aswell I will pull the PC out over the weekend and have a look thanks again
