Epl options

Depends which IPTV provider you use.

In my experience, official IPTV services link Optus, Peacock or Now TV are about 40 seconds behind Satellite.

Some IPTV providers re-stream these official streams which adds another 10-15 seconds to the already delayed stream.

If you can find an IPTV provider with a "raw" or direct satellite stream, these are usually around 15-20 seconds behind satellite so less of a delay than direct with an official IPTV service.

Sooka Malaysia is a very good alternative if you happen to sub to mysterium vpn it can be purchased directly from a UK iTunes account for £9.99 a month, for this you get three concurrent streams. Can be installed on android TV, iOS, android and played on a computer its 1080p 50 fps English Commentary too
Nice, do they have the english studio with pundits as well, or only commentary?

I am looking for options for the 2024/25 season. Last year I used Mysterium VPN set to Indonesia and watched EPL games on Vidio, mostly on desktop PC but sometimes on an android tablet. That worked okay but occasionally froze on the PC and had to be reloaded.

This year I would really like to watch on my LG TV (OLED55B7V) which is connected by Wi-Fi to a Three 5G router. Is that achievable at a reasonable price (aiming at £200 for VPN and streaming service)?

Should be - on a screen of that size I’d consider going with a 1080p and 50 or 60fps option. Peacock or Optus sport would be my choice - although the latter can be tricky. You could consider using DNS instead of VPN - in any case it can definitely be done within that budget.

Can’t remember if DNS is hardcoded on LG TVs though. Peacock won’t have all matches - but Optus can be a bit tricky to set up an account for.

Thanks. I tried Peacock last year but they didn't have all the games. Looks as though Optus does though so three further questions:
  1. Being UK based, how can I sign up for Optus (Do I need one of @Markeymark's PAYG SIMs?)
  2. What is the best way to get a VPN or DNS setup that will work reliably and consistently for Optus on my TV and
  3. How can I watch Optus on my TV? App? Website? If website, how do I get it to go full screen?
Apologies for needing so much hand holding...

1) The easiest way might be to pick up one of his dormant accounts. I believe he recently mentioned that he had some. Otherwise either a PAYG sim or a virtual phone (what I did many years ago to create my account)
2) I have managed to get full resolution consistently from UK/Europe but it will all depend on the service provider. DM me for a couple of suggestions if you decide to go down this route.
3) There is a native Optus Sport app for LG tvs if your operating system is WebOS 5+

Have u considered Fubo? Shows all prem games, English commentary.
Also a good option. They even stream some games in 4k. I seem to remember that the non-4K games were either 720p/50fps or 1080p/25fps though, but maybe that has now changed?

Also, do I remember correctly that they’ve not gone with VOD for replays but rather went down the DVR route?

I would be happy to give that a go but would need just as much help with setting it up as I would for Optus.

Can you help with these aspects?
  1. UK-based sign up
  2. VPN/DNS for TV (Canada?)
  3. Streaming on the TV.

Sadly i am not very tecky, however i will give it a try, i stream via 4k max firestick, brilliant, perfect picture and zero buffering,

1)you will need a canadian postcode,i hope i am ok to post this??, use, LB4 2N1,you will be asked for this when registering, the problem may arise wnen asked for payment as your bank may reject as card not registered to Canadian post code, if a problem, others on here will deffo guide you, all my nationwide cards have always worked,2) ,as regards vpn, i always check out deals on HUKD as lots of VPN deals posted on there, we use both Windscribe which we got for £15-00 and a streamlocator, but that is much more expensive.
3)Streaming on the TV , i am not sure what you mean as i am not tecky, however i use an amazon 4k max firestick, which is perfect for what i need,,you still may need further advice from the guys on here, please ask, as you see my knowledge is limited,, Fubo also offer 7 days free trial, which is more than what you require to make a decision,,, good luck, let us know how you get on.

Great help so far with my enquiry - very quick and useful. I should maybe have added that I have Dolby Atmos surround and would really like some surround sound for match atmosphere.

I am considering using streamlocator on a 4K fire stick with either Fubo or Optus. Does that sound like a good option? Should I go with Fubo or Optus?

💯 Fubo CA for ease of use and works great with SL

I think broadcasters mainly use Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital plus but Sky and BT use Dolby Atmos on some of their broadcasts on their UHD channels.
Not sure about all the other different providers mentioned in this thread.

I’d just check what the quality of the non-4k games on Fubo CA are first. If they’re still only 720p/50fps or 1080p/25fps and you want to watch on a big screen then it’s Optus for me: All games, all in 1080p/50fps, and no messing around with DVR. As an extra bonus you get FA Cup and La Liga as well.

Streamlocator does not support optus bud so you would have to subscribe to something that does

I'm using Setanta Sports, worked ok last season & is very cheap

£2 per month for Setanta Sports
£12 for Windsribe VPN, others probibly work too.

Would like something a little high quality to have with it this season, will search around & post anything I find

Any suggestions are welcome, looking for a service that is 50fps, not too hard to sign up for with English commentary. (Setanta is hit and miss, sometimes you get English, sometimes Ukrainian, sometimes none )
