channel list wont update

:beg:hi tryin to put a updated channel list in openbox v8 did as the instructions say and it keeps coming back with file not found any ideas anyone cheeers

Format your usb key to FAT32 first.
Download latest updated CWaites channel list [it's on the forum]
If needed unzip file---if file not zipped you will see it's a .dbs file.
Load the .dbs TP prog file to your key.
Set box to a fta channel [BBC news] and insert key into box.
Go menu--tools---update by usb---chane img to mic---scroll to start and press ok---in new screen tick top line [Tp prog---press yellow on remote.
When complete ---exit---remove key and finally reboot box..
Reaper.

hi ive checked the name on the file is correct not sure what you mean about unzipping files tried a few channel lists just keep saying file not found

Just add the attached file as it is to your formatted key.
Then just follow previous instructions.
All tested and working.

If you have downloaded straight from AJ's site, it happens. Download the file form the forum.

no good guys copied it straight on to the pen drive followed the instructions just wont load file not found im lost

I had the same probelm a couple weeks ago and I found, with my V8S, that if i had another usb stick plugged in the back of the box and tried installing the update from a usb stick in the front port, the two would counteract each other and the update wouldn't install.
So installing it with just one USB plugged in sorted that problem.

Also, deleting the existing channel list on the box before installing the new one also helps!!

Did you try deleting all the channels, I know it sounds a bit dodgey in case you can't load the channels back up again, but for me (touch wood) it worked on a previous occasion.

Menu -> Edit Channel -> Delete All

Make sure you have deleted all TP -PROG dbs from your computer First Then download The 1 in Reapers Post and follow insrtructions If you have another TP prog dbs on your computer it re-names the file and wont work

As I understand it, the V8S has an auto update of channels via the internet. Sorry do not hav instructions as I have only recently got a box and the seller showed it me but I have not got round to setup th box or seeing how every thing works. Looking for good guide for new users. DW has the the guide but needs 5 or more posts to download but I new so do not have 5 posts.

Depending on how old your v8s is, you could do it via upgrade by network, if you goto menu> upgrade by network> ok on connect> ok on tp prog, top left> ok on uk list> upgrade.
Now let the box do its work.

Or if you have an option for ok to connect, then ok on firmware update to get the latest v8s which is listed and then carry out the above once your firmware is updated
