Are Motor Satellite installers still a thing?

Many thanks. It's just strange - I used to be able to pick up boxing feeds posted in here - It's just that when I've tried over the last few weeks, I've had no luck. This one for instance, I get nothing. I'm certain I also tried something a little while back that I found on 28.2e & couldn't even manage that one.
Think most have had problems locking onto the feeds lately. I only managed one feed for the last big fight on my 90cm and that was very week, the picture was breaking up with the wind moving the dish and had it been raining there would have been no chance. Think they choosing weaker transponders now.

I got the boxing feeds ok or would never of posted them.

It was the Usyk v Fury one I struggled with this time. I've been fine before that. Maybe it is down to my dish size then. Thanks again everyone. I'll look into what a new install might cost me.

There is quite a bit to getting a good signal, you dont say the make and version of the LNB? You dont say the image in the solo2. how long is the cable from the dish? Are you sure your usals details are spot on, how did you get them. Any obstructions, trees, etc. Can you do a pic. I use a black ultra lnb with a triax 110cm dish and supreme dark motor, what is your motor.

You can tweak your dish in USALS and in my case I am 1 % out for east and west so west is 8 and east is 7, 90CM where you are is good, whats the make of dish? Can you get a lot on 0.8w?

I'm afraid I really can't answer a fair few of those questions - The dish was installed maybe 15 years ago now & the boxes are long gone now.

My Solo2 image is currently Blackhole (but i've only plugged that in as I've been playing around with it) - I've only had the VIARK SAT4K in use for the past 3 years or so.

The cable might be around 10-12m I'd think - the dish is on the opposite side or the house. USALS details are the same as they've always been, though with the VIARK box you can't enter them in so much detail as I could with the SOLO2.

There's buildings around, but nothing that stops me from getting channels between 30W & 42E.

I can certainly get a fair bit on 0.8w but I'm not sure how I'd compare it to know if it is a lot or a little.

Having taken a closer look at that lnb I'm not so sure now lol
Pretty sure you're right on the dish tho. I seem to remember the installer advising me at the time, anything over 90cm might not be legal without getting permission of some kind.

You are getting decent signals, it's just dish size by looks of things. 7e looks maxed for your dish size, 16e sounds like alignment needs tweaking

Also found I couldn't get a lock on any feeds using the dual yet the V8UHD picked same feed perfect..even tuners play a part ...like the lottery 😂

Apart from dish size, how important is quality of LNB and Motor is signal strength and picking up channels etc?

What is considered the best LNB or motor for picking up weak signals etc?

I am a bit concerned about doing this whole project of a motorised dish and then having to keep tweaking. I have very little knowledge dish aligning etc i normally have a guy who i pay do do all my dish work and to have to call him is expensive. Luckily with fixed dish there is not much that go wrong but in the case of motorised the chances of issues increases.

Should start a thread of your own👍

That;;s a good setup, lnb could be technomate and 15 years is good. If only it was placed a tad higher and I bet those trees were not there 15 ago. A new LNB would show improvement but getting the correct version now is tricky. IBU single is good but I think they have upgraded the good one and its not as good. golden media have a good one 202 as a twin but again hard to get. Sats are more powerful now but a good LNB can mean a signal or no signal with a bad one. You can try this, get your exact co-ordinates. I use google maps, put in your post code and zoom in until you can go no further then right click and it will show coords, Make a note and if they are same as in box then that's one step, if not put them in. I have a solo2 hooked up with openatv and inverto black iultra quad, Go to 9e and check comed central y channel i get 96% then check CGTN documentary I get 89%. One is H and other V. With a 90 you should get close to same. report back.

I'd need to plug the Solo2 back in again. The Viark only allows you to put in very rough figures for USALS - see pic. The Solo2 allows me to go to 3 decimal places instead I think. But both Google Maps & Dishpointer agree on my coords. I'll check 9e now & let you know.....

9e Comedy Central 11786 H 27499 - I get nothing. Fine tuning E/W does nothing to raise it from 0% quality.

CGTN Documentary 11997 V 27499 opens fine with 73% - Fine tuning E/W only lowers it from 73% to 72% and then further.
