Anyone tried a Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen ? supposed to be the same cpu as the Onn plus box.
Can get it for £45 on Ali, cons being only 2gb ram and 100mb ethernet although you can fit a usb/ethernet plug to increase speed.

Ye but if the specs are similar the Xiaomi is nearly half the price.

The only criticism of those boxes i can find really for the price point is they come with a load of bolt wear. About half of your 8 gig storage.

Well yeah had good reviews I must of been watching a video on older model only had 8 gig of storage

I think lot of Chinese manufacturers have lifted their game and some quality is emerging. I have a XTV duo and TvPlus Pro for past 2 years. No complaints whatsoever. Lets not forget apart from Magboxes, which are manufactured in Ukraine, rest of them come from China.

Update on Onn 4k Plus..

Set VPN on router to activate ..no issues straight in linked to my non US Google account without an issue..

Had a US plug but the the irony the amazon usb plug and USB C worked fine.

Very snappy and responsive. Mine updated straight away and don't think u can block updates so on Android TV 14 with no issues ..

Only issue will be loading the UK apps ...Will try that at some point..for price and performance it's excellent. Great remote to can map keys.

Ok all UK apps working fine directly from UK playstore...except Iplayer which needed to be sideloaded and working fine..ONN 4k plus for value and oomph one of the best out there.
