The Mutant HD51 does not have built-in Wi-Fi; it relies on a USB Wi-Fi adapter to connect to the internet. To set up Wi-Fi, you'll need a compatible USB Wi-Fi adapter and then follow these steps:
- Connect the USB Wi-Fi adapter: Plug the adapter into one of the USB ports on the Mutant HD51.
- Access the network settings: Navigate to the network settings within the Mutant HD51's interface. This is often done by going to the main menu and selecting "Network" or "Setup".
- Select Wi-Fi: Find the Wi-Fi option within the network settings and select it.
- Scan for networks: The Mutant HD51 should scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Choose your network: Select your desired Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
- Enter the password: If the network is password-protected, enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Connect: Once you've entered the password, the Mutant HD51 should connect to the network
If you have those why would you want to run it on wifi ? A hard wired box is always better than wifi.I have these already what you show in attached photo. I'm using Openpli image 8.3 anyone know where I might find WiFi settings if there are any at all ?
I'm having a new internet provider fitted and want router fitted more centrally in house and that's why I want to see if I can run new router and my mutant hd51 possibly to run without wires ethernet cable that's only reason why I'm askingIf you have those why would you want to run it on wifi ? That's great to hear just wondered if there is a particular one that will work with it as most of these WiFi adapters will need there own drivers I would expect ?All

Might be pot luck, best to use Amazon then you can return them after trying! That's great to hear just wondered if there is a particular one that will work with it as most of these WiFi adapters will need there own drivers I would expect ?
Hello mate long time no hear or see buddy.Get this one from Amazon, ie do a search.
USB Wifi Adapter Dongle for PC - 1300Mbps Wifi Dongle, 3.0 USB Wifi Adapter, 5dBi Dual Band 2.4GHz/5GHz High Gain Antenna Wireless Adapter.
Its quite good just testing now on zgemma H7S but very close to router.
Then in plugins you need to get driver network-usb-rt8822bu. You don't say image and version but driver may already be installed. go plugins red and click on drivers. Otherwise move box to router use a lan cable d/l driver. Do a hard reboot and it will be detected, then configure as normal, NB make sure you select correct encryption.
All circumstances are different but as a plan B could you not just leave the router where it was previously and get a booster or two dotted around the house to improve range?I'm having a new internet provider fitted and want router fitted more centrally in house and that's why I want to see if I can run new router and my mutant hd51 possibly to run without wires ethernet cable that's only reason why I'm asking
Thanks in advance
Image is Openpli 8.3 with default skinTell me the image and version and skin you are using and maybe I can mimic that then I'll do a step by step. here is the speed I get on an AXHD61 as I'm messing. This is 5 ghz. In case I forget when I say encryption I mean AUTHENTICATION and that's as per my ASUS router. It displays as WPA or WPA2. Tell me make of your router as it may be different but I get 4 choices on the usb stick WEP, WPA, WPA or WPA2, WPA2 but its says Encryption.. Do you get the idea. So I use WPA or WPA2 and it works.
I have fibre to the home 500mb.
I also have Asus router and another in loft as an access pointTell me the image and version and skin you are using and maybe I can mimic that then I'll do a step by step. here is the speed I get on an AXHD61 as I'm messing. I will try all this but need to get adapter the one you mentioned was it WiFi 6 ax ?Right I put openpli 8.3 its dated 4/6/25 but a bit clunky and does not show plugins that are installed via red button. That dongle I linked works but no sign of the driver mentioned above and as I use zgemma h7s it may have picked driver from another image or pli has it by default. This is what I did.
1. plug in dongle. 2., menu setup system expert settings network and ok, 3. you should see 2 entries, wlan and lan. 4. on wlan press green. 5. select scan wireless networks and press ok and wait, 6. your wireless network should appear. 7. it may show 2 bands, selcet 2.4 and use inteeface make green, toggle, dhcp make green. 8 Encrytion toggle and make it wwpa/wpa2 or same as router. 9. encryption key. press text button and keyboard pops up, enter key ie passwrrd and green to save. 10/ press ok and wait. 11. do network test. = bingo.
Im going to get latest pli9 to see if any different later.
