I have a GT Media V8. Tempted to get a Viark for a slighter better experience. But wanted to check first is there any better boxes since I was here last? Or anyone know of any new boxes due to be released? Thanks

What do you mean by better experience ?

The V8 UHD and Viark Sat 4K are essentially the same hardware, the software is also VERY similar and both use the same servers.

As in a slicker UI with a better guide, maybe an EPG that can be updated through the internet. I know they run on a specific chip, but surely someone's working on a more premium box. It's absolutely brilliant for what it does but you can't deny the interface is like something from the 90's 🤣

I've read the thread about the Qviart Dual, seems like a slightly better interface and remote. Any thoughts on this? Again though I think another step up in quality would be great.

The software is the same, just some different colours. EPG is the same on both boxes.

The Dual is nice, I like it mainly because it also has E2 and that when using Android it adds HDR (F1 looks great at 4096x2160p50 in HDR), even if it is just upscaled 1080p.

But the Dual has some issues of it's own and the EPG is just 1 of those, the infobar gives you less info than the V8 UHD or Sat 4K too.

I also like the dual it's a nice little box, but it does have some issues.

No idea, don't use it myself (autobiss that is).

Just pointing out that an update is needed for the Sat 4K for that alone (but there are other things that need updating, such as IM Pro 1.42 / Apollo 1.42 or whatever they want to call it this week).
