Satellite Zgemma h7s restart

Hi Folks, back with update.

New psu installed, 6A 12v psu as recommended, sorry to say didn't solve the problem. Btw checked the spec of the existing psu and its identical to the one in bmitie post # 14

Have checked out all of the suggestions in above posts and none of them solved the issue.

Next thing I think is to do a reflash.

Do I just copy my current setup to backup? Also take note of my XE setup. So far I have copied by existing setup as follows.

Menu/Setup/Software Management/Backup System Settings.

Menue/Setup/Software Management/Backup image.

Do I then just download the latest version of atv from opentvnightly for h7 and go through the normal flash routine?

Then reinstall previous setup by Menu/Setup/Software Management/Restore system settings?

Thanks in anticipation
John
As already mentioned, you can't put a backup on atv 7.3 from atv 6.4 because they use different python versions.
I'd just flash atv 7.3, install your xe plugin and send the code to your provider.
He will change the old code to the new code and your iptv will work as it did before

A settings restore will re-install plugins from the feeds of the newest image. It will be fine. If it isn't you can always reflash again.

I think the OP was hoping to backup his xe setup, - each time xe is installed it generates a new eight digit code which means sending this to the provider. I don't think this is possible to keep the existing code/install even if flashing from py2 to py2 or py3 to py3

Just to add to my previous post, one of a few times a settings restore will not work is you add an ipk to the backup. What this does is manually install that ipk that you have provided. It does not install it from the plugin server. In essence this is manually installing an old ipk as opposed to installing the current plugin from the plugin server. A very big distinction. A settings backup restores what was in /etc/enigma2/ and runs "opkg install xxxx" ( xxxx= list of plugins user had previously installed)

With regards to XE, I have never used it so can't comment definitively. It seems whether he restores or flashes new, he will have to reconfigure that plugin. If the options are written to the file called "settings", most options will remain. To me, it does not make sense to not restore just because one plugin has to be reconfigured. It does not have to be an "all or nothing" situation.
