Zgemma H7S replacement for Sky Q,

Hi all just a bit of advice on the Zgemma H7S i am looking to take out my Sky Q box and use a Zgemma H7S as a replacement for Freesat and Freeview. My set up would be one input into my hybrid lnb for freesat one for Freeview into tv ariel and the other to my motor for all other sats this is the only triple tuner i can find that will do the job any advice from long term users of this box would be great. Thanks

Your hybrid lnb should have 6 outputs but its possible only 3 cables installed. Freeview is via aerial and I think you mean to use one sat cable for tv and the other for
Zgemmma and the 3rd to motor from zgemma. I would not use a zgemma to drive a motor but are you looking at cost?

A better option is a uno 4kse and add the play tv tuner, its on ebay about 10 quid. The uno is double the zgemma but its a hundred times better, possible more. The remote with zgemma is pure shite, can I say that🤢. You can get a better one for 10 euro, the remote with the uno will nearly work from the room next door.

You also get FBC tuners with the uno and even with one cable you can record more than one channel. with the usb for freeview it a dual tuner so possible record the lot simultaneously.

The recent hybrid LNB's installed by Sky only have two legacy ports (four ports in total).

There's a slightly cheaper FBC receiver in the Gigablue UE UHD although I've never experienced issues with my Zgemma H7 driving my motor.

that;s good news re the zgemma and motor, most of the stuff i've read tends to mention lack of power. what motor are you using and how are fininding the remote? and thats useful on the legacy lnb. getting on in age . Mind you the op does not say the motor make. Is your zgemma the one with ssd slot in rear?

And in that case zgemma is best option as long as you know how to flash/set it up and good value.

Ive had issues with the H7 over 20 meters of coax with a Darkmotor

It was hit a miss as to if it would move.

I cured it with a 5 amp PSU of ebay 20 meters of ct125 low loss coax and a low amperage LNB. Titanium in my case.

er i would have changed to an uno  and sold the zgema
Yeah but i have a Gigablue UE sold the H7 not long after i get that.

My Drs2 is used on same dish that had issues moving the dish too its fine now.

Mine is the H7C with two DVB-C/T/T2 and one DVB-S/S2 tuner and motor is a Technomate 2600. I think there's an SSD slot but have never bothered with it before. Admittedly I've heard of others having motor issues with Zgemmas but they've just never affected me before and I've used a variety of power cables which have all been fine. The remote isn't great but it's better than my Viark one. My Gigablue Quad 4K remote is much superior.

Thanks for all the reply's the main reason i looked at Zgemma H7S was first it is a triple tuner 2 sat 1 terrestrial mainly for freesat and freeview and the other reason was the price under a hundred pounds. I have a 30mtr run of ct125 coax connected to a stab motor what works fine on my old Vu plus Solo 2

Aha that Solo 2 is top notch, get that play tv tuner will work with solo 2. = 10 quid and I can tell you the driver to download. Then a hard reboot ie switch at rear, configure tuners and your done. There's one on ebay now for 5.99 plus 3.49 if you are in UK. I don't think I can post the link.

I have one connected to a UNO 4KSE with FBC tuners and I can record all of SAORVIEW at same time and 6-8 on sat. But only record sports and the odd soap as a back up.
