What is the difference with Oled tv and my brand new Hisense Tv

I'm just thinking, am I gonna notice a v.g. TV from an average, I should say half decent TV?.

I saw this on eBay, it's got £73:80 off till midnight tonight bringing it in at £295:19

Pardon our interruption...

I've watched a few reviews all say the same decent TV nothing special does a turn

Let's not forget, I am a tight arse wodge

Check out allen fleckney tv repair channel on you tube, if you are geeky. He says always buy a TV with a six year guarantee.....

Alot, of cheaper TVs don't last. Even the new Samsung's have gone downhill on quality.

Well I've bit the bullet and bought this just

Hisense A6K 58 inch Smart 4K Ultra HD LED TV 58A6NTUK | eBay

£287:19 theres a £71:80 off coupon, I don't need anything fancy. Tbh anythings gotta be better than a TV were everyone looks like a smurf.

I'm murder for tinkering so I might look at the other as a project and give it my son
Very risky with Hisence TV quality. My 55 uld has a very poor picture compared with my Hisence Qled. Like you I bought my first Hiscene because of the cheap price and size of TV.

To be honest, I'm not a TV buff quality wise say, sharpness, brightness, blacks and all that. As long as it's not like Minecraft it should be fine.
I think the thing I was worried about was buying accent technology but by the sounds of it even low cost TVs perform quite well.

I would have still used my other had it not gone a blue'ish tinge.

I've read it's normally the backlight that goes and gives it the blue tinge so I've ordered the correct set off Ali Express for £14.

Looking at the video it's not hard to do. If it works I'll give it my lad or use it upstairs.

I'll post up some pictures when it's done because backlight going on TV's is apparently a common fault

I got TV but the missus made me sort all the cables out at the back of the stand which took 2 hours absolute utter ball acke.

Anyway the TV is fine, good decent enough picture only snag the sounds abit tinny but I was always gonna get a sound bar anyway but for the price I can't grumble.
I'll spend a bit of time today messing with all the settings.
Is there better TVs ? Yeah but for the money I paid it does it's job

Funnily enough i watched i video of a guy changing led's last night.

Looks a bit trickier than the Hisense one I watched but if youve the patience then why not.
I did a drum replacement on a washer dryer about 4 years ago. Virtually every screw clip spring had to come out. I picked a new drum off eBay for £30 some firm had going cheap. It work a good few years after till other stuff packed up.
This is the Hisense video and here's the back lights

I just found this on AliExpress:
£17.24 | led backlight for LED55EC620UA strip SVH550AF2 6LED REV02 150410 lcd screen HD550DU-B5

Well a week or so into the new TV and I'm happy with the picture it's 50 times better than the old knackered one
Only snag is, the sound is sh*te. It's like an old hand held radio with the pull out aerial. I have an older Hisense upstairs and the sound picture is bang on but it seems that the majority of budget TVs suffer from poor sound.

I'm debating to dig out my 5.1 Sony surround sound speakers I bought years ago or get a soundbar and add the Yamaha sub woofer.

But yeah for around £280 for a 58" TV, I can't grumble

The backlights arrived so I had a go today. Getting the TV apart wasn't that difficult were I met problems was the final bit, lifting the reflector sheet paper to access the backlight strips.

Unlike the guy in the video Hisense used thin double sided mobile phone type tape on mine and because the TVs old reflector sheet had perished it made it impossible to salvage. As soon as I tried to lift it just disintegrated.

So I'll need to buy some white reflector paper sheet. I did a bit of googling but some look sub standard very thin and a few complain, anyone any ideas ?

Had to buy a new Hisense 4k tv. It is really bright and the quality of picture is a lot stronger than my LG 4k.

So what grade does Oled 4k tellys have compared to my new £299?
Saw your thread and was about to post exactly what you have above hahaha. One of my TV's is an LG . Was at my daughters last night and when she turned on her new and inexpensive Hisense set , the picture quality blew me away. FFS my LG is shite compared to it. Both faily basic 4k models.

The thing is with TVs, these cheap more modern ones blow away away the expensive TVs from only a few years ago.
I know you can get better but to be honest I'm not a huge TV fan, sport that's it but I couldn't cope with the blue. My only snag is, these thin TVs don't have the space (and to keep cost down) decent speakers in them so it's awful tinny.

As for my attempt to repair my old TV ?. I bought some reflective white paper for it so as it stands I'm unexpectedly in at £40.

If it works ? great, if not live n learn I say
