vw golf mk 7.5

hi just bought vw golf mk7.5, the problem is cant open back boot manually, will only open with remolt key. is the vw lock is faulty or is it the motoe thanks

Is that a fingertip device to open the boot or mechanical. Water can get into the contacts to stop it working.
If the remote was not working to lock / unlock i would suspect broken wires in the loom at the hinge.

thanks for the reply, yes it is finger device to open the boot, the remote does work but i need to open manually like my other golf. will changing the full lock make any difference

One reason why i dont own a VW. Glad you found the issue , was it at door hinge loom or at lock.
Contacts are too small for connections as Toyota use normal ones and bigger area contact and no issues.
