Yes a new Firestick but I'm not sure what a 'player option' is. I have downloaded a few players to try and settled on Tivimate Premium, thanks

Tivimate settings, Playback, External Player, set it to Yes/No/VOD only
I still think your vpn blocked the DC for VOD, only way to tell is to use another VPN if you Def want to use a vpn that is.

With the VPN disabled things play ok on the Firestick. That is the riddle I'm trying to solve... thanks

VLC has more software codecs built-in so it can play a larger variety of video formats out the box.

What you will find is some providers, have learnt the IPs being using by most of the popular VPN provider and blocked them! You need to find a provider which doesn’t mind you using a VPN.

There is i.S.P blocks in place .Try clearing your
Cache reboot your device reboot your router
Then reconnect your v.p.n to a different location
Try France for your location

If you keep getting no internet connection you
Have been blocked

Yes usually using VLC media player as a player inside tivimate gets rid of this error every time. Usually a old film too that causes this issue because tivimate ain't got the right codec to play it

Personal opinion i wouldnt use free v.p.n
There not safe Trys premium v.p.n like surfshark
Or ip vanish

Yes free vpns may seem great but even proton vpn with free config files using via wireguard plugin has more leaks than a bad apprentice plumber .
bite the bullet just pay for full subscription and even though I have surfshark it is a constant battle with latest attempts to stop our iptv so some times you need to try differrent vpn servers.
