Waiting for Amazon.es to deliver my replacement Viark LIL got as far as updating the box then the remote stopped working.

What version firmware did you use because there was a firmware release 1.0.2 that covered all remote types. That could of been your problem just the wrong firmware for the new style remote.

It was 1.02 remote worked after update but failed whilst setting up the wifi connection. Tested the remote pressing buttons whilst pointed at my phone's camera you can see IR light if you remotes working

Nothing clearing for me on 28. 2,19, 13 guys, any ideas.
Sometimes it says buffering please wait, then goes back to scrambled channel.

28.2e goes off every evening for a few hours ... im thinking it must be some scheduluded mainteance or something becuase once it comes back its perfect

I dont think it is simply maintenance

Day before yesterday 28 was off and when it came back it has lot of extra channels on it. May be they are in maintenance mode

Well what ever is happening i guess it has to be done to keep the channels running ... You will notice some channels stay on and majority are off.. Once it comes back its back for the night until the next afternoon/evening

Powered box of for about 20 mins or so, clearing 13 and 19 now, still same on 28.2 tho..... Will leave it a bit longer see how it goes.

We don’t know where they are based, they may not be U.K. based.

Powered down the box for about 10 mins, channels back up on 28.2

Would that be the same DDT that said they were in control of everything and to prove it they would switch off forever, orca and whatever other servers at the start of the Man U and Liverpool match and then did sweet FA ?

The DDT should be renamed the FOS Team, I don't know what is more crazy, the rubbish they post or the people that hang off their every word.

it would seem that they maybe have one server, or so, maybe two
and are trying to DDOS other servers out of use so they can claim everyone to themselves,
then, and again only IMHO, they will try and ransom everyone for as much as they can
that is why this is doomed to failure the way it is set up right now,

They sure will have good ddos protection, if they can crack so many packages, getting ddos protection is not a big thing

Starsat boxes, to my knowledge, have been marketed in South Asia (countries closer to China) and Middle East for many years (with "For Ever" servers).
Local retail price around £50-£65 (Google).
I guess the Servers are based somewhere around that area too. Considering 4-6 time difference, one can easily work out why it happens during our peak time more often.
My Starsat started playing up after mid-day today and only some Scambled Asian channels clearing.
on 28,2. I did notice the server being disconnected for a while today and then came back on but still only above mentioned clearing.
Let us see what tomorrow brings.

I think you're right. Wouldn't be surprised if these outages are down to the power cuts.

i dont think enigma2 and viark boxes use the same server because testing earlier when some channels were down on viark they were working on e2 box

the viark/ddt folks are trying to get a monopoly, which isnt quite working out as they had planned just now
