Viark Using Viark as slave to Enigma2 Motorised System?

So is that a bad thing if the motor is on the whole night. I dont want to put my box in deep standy. I do have recordings that will happen in the middle of the night. repeat stuff for my mum who watches her shows but that will be the other tuner on the fixed dish.
Even if i stop this, my box acts as the main hardrive for my slave boxes so i really dont want to have to keep shutting it down. I obv dont want to break my motor or cause issues there either.
Your going to be running two boxes on same dish so only one box needs to be sending power to the motor or LNB at once. So it is important when boxes are in standby not to be sending power.

If your box comes out of standby to make a recording you be fine as long as its the only box sending power.

I always use openvix image. How am i to tell if that is going to cause a problem.

So correct me if i am wrong. When both boxes are not in use the motor will not have a green light on there.
When one box is active and is being used there will be a green light?
Should be no lights on motor when in standby.

OK so its very important for the lights to NOT be in when in standby mode. I know for a fact that my VIark and ultimo will not be on at the same time cos i have full control on that. The only slight issue is that if my ultimo is in stanby mode or for example i am watching on a TUNER A which is all coming through my fixed dish or if i am recording something on my fixed dish. Can i assume that the motor lights will still be off and will only turn on when i select a channel that will require power to come though the motorised tuner?

Also what is the delay in turning on to a channel from the motorised dish in seconds approx assuming the dish is already facing the right direction

If any box is turned on youll have power to the motor which then passes on power to the LNB. The fixed dish if its static and setup to use tuner A it wont power up the motor if thats on tuner b

Wait i am getting a bit confused, so yes the box can be turned on but not actively using that tuner that is from the motorised dish. So in theory the motor light will stay off if i am watching BBC one HD for example and my VIARK receiver is in standby mode.

If the motor light is still on under the same conditions then something is wrong and i need to fix that right?

Also what is the delay from motor powering on and channel getting picture?

So am i mate.

What tuner A B C is going to you motor ?

How is that tuner setup ?

And what tuner is going to your fixed dish ?

How is that tuner setup ?

Ok sorry fair enough

so basically motorised dish connected to goobay switch thing. Master connected to VIARK single tuner. Slave port connected to my FBC tuner B port on my ultimo 4k working in legacy mode of course.
Now TUNER A on my ultimo 4k is a fixed dish at 28.2 using my UNICABLE set up. I have multiple recordings on there and slave boxes access this tuner from different places of the house. Because its FBC i can have multiple recordings and viewings without issues.

Now if my VIARK receiver is in regular standby and my ultimo is just in regular standby or switched on but on TUNER A only or is recording on TUNER A or recording something using IPTV on JEDI extreme for arguments sake, will the motor light stay off because that tuner is not active?

Sorry hope that makes sense.

So tuner A Fixed dish can not effect power to your motor obviously, having the ultimo Standby Recording should mean tuner B is not active or powered up to be sending voltage to your Motor if your recording from tuner A.

You will need to look at you motor lights to confirm it though, as said earlier some image may have power at tuner B.

Right ok so it should be off so i will need to check this when i get it set up
What are the implications if there is power at all times? Would this ruin the motor or tuner in the long run?

Well if power is there all the time it has been already. Any issues ?

Power been there when your boxes are in standby does not really effect switching with a goobay switch either as the switch will just give priority to the box last switched on.

So it down to personal choice i personally dont like power going to the motor lnb whatever when in standby as its extra wear and tear on the box and motor electronics.

Yes i agree. I just have to make sure i am in a position to be able to see if my light is OFF when nobody is accessing the motor. I just hope i dont have to put my ultimo (slave) into deep standby all the time just to ensure the motor is off.

But i see your point about the switch. If the light stays on when my ultimo and viark are in normal stanby mode then i have to see which one is causing this. Its safe to assume its def going to be the ultimo causing this.
So does that mean i could have issues when i am using my VIARK and my ultimo is in stanby mode cos the switch is technically getting powered by both devices?
I just thought the power could be on but it wont affect the VIARK picture because it knows that currently its being used by this and to control the motor when needed but i could be wrong

Just to revent back a little some images on my solo 4k even when in deep standby and i think it's vix images send power to the motor. This has caused issues on viark as certain channels were shown as not available. It did take some working out and that's why i do mention it when people are doing similar set ups.

Ultimately you're not going to know for definite until you set it up, then test different scenarios.
And I'll be honest I haven't tested mine out either GT media (master) using motor Xtrend 8500 ( slave) using motor and fixed multi lnb. It just all gets turned off when not in use.

Oh damn. OK i guess i will have to look into this when i get set up. Will be a bit annoying if thats the case cos openvix for me is the best image on there and i normally keep my ultimo 4k in stanby mode.

Thanks for the input everyone. Appreciate it.

Gosh so that would mean i would have to flick the off switch to actually put the motor to sleep. What a nightmare that would be

Maybe I'm fussy or it's an age thing , probably just me , we turn everything off at bedtime, other than the boiler, fridge , freezer and broadband .

Good luck when you setup

So then am i to assume that during the day the motor is powered on ready for when you watch something for example or when you actually want to watch something you power on and then hard shutdown after?

Exactly in the evenings power on when we watch something , weekends it's on all day until hard shutdown.
