The best bet imho is to remove everything relating to the old box in the backup as I said in post 3
Get rid of fstab, samba, network, hostname etc from the /etc folder.

I just make a settings backup and then open the backup with 7-zip and delete everything apart from the highlighted items in the etc folder.

Then do a settings restore on the new box.

Hi Just purchased the

and i want to transfer my settings from my old zgemma h2s
Ive deleted the files in etc as above but do i delete
Usr
temp
home
folders?

tmp and home shouldn't be in the etc folder.

just delete everything in the etc folder apart from enigma2.

There not but when you unpack the winrar backup settings file
They are with the etc file at the bottom of that list

restoring settings from one type of box to another that is not the same model can have issues, you may find it easier just setting it all up again.

You don't need to unpack the archive. Use 7-Zip not WinRAR.
Open the settings backup with 7-Zip and delete everything in the etc folder except enigma2.
Just press the X in the top corner to exit and save when prompted.
