I know exactly what you mean now after reading the article.
That most modern day movie colours don’t have that pop like when watching UHD sports or the tv show Planet Earth in UHD.
They are grainy and dark like some tv series.
Game of Thrones is a perfect example of that imo.
In fact, I think some people complained about it and we’re saying it was to dark to view.

Exactly. It makes spending money on premium tv's pointless with what they are doing to the colours. It's one of my pet peeves. This and buying a big tv then only to be filled with half of the screen with borders because it was shot for Cinema aspect ratio.

Yeah I forgot about watching movies through a letter box aspect ratio lol.
