Trimming dish bolts

Bolts connecting the brackets need to be cut down in size , best method can I do this in situ . Or is it best to take it down to do. Hacksaw with 32tpi blade?

Hacksaw fine or angle grinder

Mmmm not sure I'll dig the angle grinder out it's mains powered , if I had a mini one may be. Hacksaw saw it is then

Blade tpi size I have a 18 ,24 32 which do I use.?

Probably snagging the cables if not dressed correct?

Yep cable got snagged yesterday going from 30w back to 28e.

I'll have another look tried a few times and I've twisted and bent the cable as far as possible without damaging it.

So what blade do I use guys 18, 24, 32 any one done it

Finest you got , put a nut on the bolt before sawing it , de burr it then unscrew the nut and the thread should be fine.

yes finest blade you can get using a hacksaw could possibly move even move dish, if bolts are not fully tightened personally a small angle grinder would be better.
or how about some cable ties if enough play on cables

I'll check cable routing tomorrow, before any possible cutting, btw how high up on the motor mount pole do you have your dish mounted.

Didn't want to miss the football /boxing if I messed the alignment up.

If you had to do it , is it best to take the dish down or cut while it's still mounted

It depends on accessibility/safety. If you can cut it easily and safely as it is, why take it down and have to align it again?
If you have to lean over and risk falling/injury, self is more important than equipment. Take it down or get a tower/scaffold to allow you to do it safely. Do whatever is safest for you.

The spare bolts were a different type , so used the hacksaw on the bolts mounted, done cutoff 1/2 inch all nice and neat. Cheers
