UPDATE!

I have done this 2 years running, without issue.

1. Make sure you're using Spofity with a free account. (so if you're currently using a subscription this will need to expire first).
2. Start by switching the VPN on with loction set to india
3. Head to the following URL and set your country to India ( if you don't see india as an option your VPN is not on) Login - Spotify
4. Head over to G2A and buy a 12m India gift card
5. Get your e-mail from G2A, (ensure you're still connected to the VPN when you click redeem, otherwise you won't see your code)
6. Head back to spotify (with your VPN still on) Login - Spotify
7. Paste your code and activate
8. You're all set!

AT THIS POINT YOU CAN NOW SWITCH OFF YOUR VPN AND TEST.

DO NOT CHANGE YOUR LOCTION BACK TO UK!!

IF YOU DO THIS YOUR PREMUM ACCOUNT WILL BE REVERTED BACK TO A 1 MONTH SUBSCRIPTION.

*NOTE

YOU WILL SEE IN BROWSE ALL, THINGS LIKE HINDI, MALAYALAM, PUBJABI ETC, DUE TO THE SET LOCATION - BUT THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE IS COMPLETELY THE SAME.

Hi mate have tried this procedure to get the code but for some reason my PIA vpn (india) will only take me to a blank screen almost like it’s blocking me all the time the vpn is on. Tried to get a free vpn just to do this step but none seem to offer India connection. Any ideas? Presuming if I try and connect with any other countries vpn or none at all won’t allow me to get the code

I used PIA but only used it for the Spotify account to set the location and enter the code I purchased G2A.
I used Spotify on a web browser and didn’t use the official Spotify app because I would imagine it will know that your playstore account is not based in India.
But not entirely sure and didn’t want to risk it…

When I purchased the code from the my G2A app not the website I didn’t use my vpn.
You don’t need a vpn to purchase the code from G2A.
It’s only needed to initially set up the Spotify account then you don’t need it.
But you must leave the Spotify account location set to India at all times…
 
If anyone is looking for a ‘modded’ version try the ReVanced Manager 1.24.0 app (download from GitHub) to patch the Spotify.apk .Working perfectly (at the moment!).

Cheers for this. I went for it and it worked 👍 obviously not sure for how long but for $21 it’s low risk
