RIP poor children if they have passed away soo sad to see people getting killed for nothing on the streets.
 
Bloody heartbreaking and shocking event's.
Cant even begin to imagine what shock all victims and direct witnesses are in right now.
RIP to the little one's sadly and brutally taken away from their families too soon. Lets just hope there are no more to lose their life in this cruel and vicious world.

Awful news, we have two young kids in nursery and I can't imagine what the parents are going through.

@browney I can only see his name being released on social media as he is under age, his name won’t be released publicly.
When he turns 18 they can release his name or media outlets can apply to the court to have reporting restrictions lifted in some cases.
It has been reported he was born in Cardiff by the Merseyside Police.
The Telegraph reported that he was born to Rwandan parents.

While police and emergency services were still responding to the attack, a widely shared LinkedIn post claimed without evidence that "a migrant" was responsible.

But the most viral source of rumours so far has been a report published on an obscure US-based website which claims to cover "breaking news".

The report falsely claims that that the 17-year old suspect is an "asylum seeker" named "Ali Al-Shakati", who "arrived in the UK by boat last year".

Merseyside Police has confirmed that the suspect was born in Cardiff, and has yet to identify the 17-year-old.

The report also adds that the suspect was "on the MI6 watch list", despite the fact that it is MI5, not MI6, that deals with domestic counter-terrorism cases.

The name "Ali Al-Shakati" has since been widely shared online in posts viewed by millions.

Some other outlets, including Russia's RT news channel, have also reported this name, citing the US-based website.

Other variations of the report, including the claim that the suspect was a "Channel migrant", have also been widely circulated.

He posts twice in this video on LinkedIn. Maximise the video (bottom left) Pause to read. This has now been deleted from the website.

The guy does originate from Southport and his profession matches the one on his LinkedIn account. Definitely the same account.
Not sure why he'd make up the guys name and state he was known to M16 🤷.

Will they be able to name him ?, which wil help to stop all this cr*p on social media sh*te making out he's got a Muslim name and he's just got off a boat and all the other boll*cks being touted about just to wind up and get the knuckle draggers out on our streets.
 
No, he won't be named because he's a minor.
They've already said he was born in Wales and then moved to Southport.
His parents are Rwandan and Rwanda is a 99% Christian country so I'd say there's practically zero chance of him having a muslim faith.
The EDL have shot themselves in the foot with this, what little support they did have has rapidly drained away by sending their professional gobshites to Southport two days after a mass killing of children, and on the same day as a public vigil.
And the fact it was based on erroneous information, which they knew was erroneous, makes it even worse and smacks of desperation

It was posted on X yesterday early evening. It was all over Facebook groups too.
 
You're never going to keep something like this a secret, he had neighbours and (possibly) friends who knew he'd been arrested.
The story is too big, if he'd just stabbed another teenager in a fight or something it wouldn't even have made it into the national press, it would have been one paragraph in the local rag.

The media were granted permission by the judge after they applied for the reporting restrictions to be lifted.
Without it they couldn’t have.
