Query : Understanding latency using oscam etc for foreign satellite

Hi. First post.

Thinking of taking the plunge and getting myself a 1m dish with 4 way technomate triax on it to enable me to receive 13, 19.2 23.5, 28.2 (east). I already have Sky UK (not Q), its the foreign feeds and uplinks that are of interest.

Should I choose to go down the road of getting myself a Zgemma box (es) and do all the oscam stuff (its still new to me as a concept) - how is the latency in terms of delay to process / decrypt the channel signal versus having a normal card in a box.

The main driver for me doing this is latency and to get the fastest available pictures for a variety of sports.

If the latency is in the seconds as opposed to millis theres no point.

Possibly a dumb question but I need to be certain before I proceed.

I take it you are gambling?
The sports channels on these sats are sometimes behind the uk sat, but not always.
Sky germany premier league has been known to be seconds behind sky uk coverage, and thats behind a live feed.

Feeds are few and far between on 13e 19.2e & 23.5e

Yes, gambling purposes.

Im aware that for the serious mainstream stuff that originates in the uk beating it isnt really possible.

Just looking for options for other stuff.

Question stands about latency of oscam versus actual card.

New question - uplinks, ive seen NFL have a thread for 19.2 - is there an east sat that gets used for mainstream sport ?

You Would be much better off in terms of what you can open and reliability using a forever box.

ECM times for oscam on a good line should be around 200ms or below

Purely looking for live sport at a time where more and more (of what I want) isnt on uk tv and the feeds on betting sites are deliberately delayed 10 seconds with the raw feed no longer sent.

Before I set about the 427 pages does it have places to buy them ? Approved vendors ? Think im going to buy one get familiar play about with the feeds on 28.2 you cant get through a sky box (biss thread). Then I can get the multi lnb sat setup and subs.

Can I just add, if you are hoping to get a bet on a score before the bookies know it has already happened, you have more chance of flying to the moon by flapping your arms.

It is a very mainstream opinion. Ultimately someone somewhere needs to press the button. Nothing is ever impossible.

However that’s not what me wanting to add new feeds is about. There’s more and more big sport where you cant even have pictures in the UK. The feeds will sit playing away to themselves on screens 5 or 6 waiting for a situation to develop and then I’m at least in the right block of 10 seconds for monitoring my position.

Looking forward to the box arriving and having a play.

Can I ask your recommendation. Im also in Scotland so my starting point is already bigger.

Will I struggle to even get standard Sky DE or Canal France / Czech etc on a 1m ?

They will be easy, but feeds are generally on 7e/10e/16e

Also on a viark, channel change on most encrypted channels takes at least 3 secs.

Thank you. Does that then represent 3 seconds latency in the pictures or is it just a standalone 3 second process ?
