Purchase my own router

I was at a friends recently and they have installed an eero 6 mesh system into their existing router, not sure if that would be a better option for me rather than purchasing a new router and getting my isp to link it as a bridge.
This is a little bit out of my comfort zone so any advise would be really appreciated
Since changing my router password and kicking off my intruder who had 5 devices connected to my system without my knowledge my internet has been a bit more stable but still not as good as it was.
Thanks for any advice
Could your friend not help you replicate his setup?

I am sure he could but I do not want to spend over £250 for a system I'm not sure I need, hence trying to see if anybody can offer any advice on what would be the best option for me before I purchase anything

Is there anything you specifically need this router to do besides it's basic functions of providing wifi etc.?

If internet is not as good as it was and friend kicked of as you now say then why do you think new router will help you should be back to normal.

I really don't know all I know is the signal is not as stable as it was and my isp says nothing is wrong at their end, so I am really just looking at options to try and improve the stability.

Has the isp actually changed your WiFi password yet?

Are they just changing the WiFi password or the admin passwords as well?

Yes if they just changed wifi password, thats useless as neighbour may have admin login details.
