Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to €95million with Atletico Madrid for striker Julian Alvarez.

Subject to personal terms being finalised he will complete a move to Spain this summer in what will be a record sale for the Premier League club.
 
Lee Carsley is expected to be the interim manager of the England men's senior team when they play their Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland next month.

Carsley led England Under-21s as they won the European Championship in 2023 for the first time in 39 years.

The FA has not commented on the search for Southgate's replacement but have always made clear they have had an "interim solution in place".

Carvalho has accepted, as per reports; he’s set to undergo medical tests at Brentford soon.

Liverpool have agreed to sign Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in a deal worth up to £29m.

The 23-year-old will join, subject to a work permit and international clearance, for a fee of £25m plus £4m in add-ons.

However, he will remain with the La Liga club this season before moving to Merseyside for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Manchester United have held exploratory talks over a deal to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea (BBC)

Arsenal have completed the signing of Spain midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad for a fee that could reach £31.6m.

The 28-year-old moves to north London on a four-year contract with the option of a further year after the Gunners agreed to pay an initial £27.4m plus £4.2m in add-ons.
 
Arsenal have agreed a deal with Bournemouth for the loan signing of goalkeeper Neto.

The deal is a straight loan option and Neto is set to undergo a medical with the north London club tomorrow.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon over the hire of Ruben Amorim as head coach.

As part of the deal Amorim is set to stay with Sporting for their next three games, including against Manchester City on Tuesday and Braga on November 10, meaning he would first take charge of United away at Ipswich Town on November 24.
 
In a shock move, Manchester United have appointed Sporting coach Ruben Amorim as their new manager.

The 39-year-old Portuguese, who will move to Old Trafford from the Lisbon club on 11 November, has signed a contract until June 2027.

Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who took charge on an interim basis after Erik ten Hag was sacked on Monday, will stay on for the club's next three fixtures.

It'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Being a United fan for the last 10+ years hasn't been enjoyable. Let's hope things change for the better now.
 
Personally I don't think it's a manager problem. I do think Amorim is good and after a couple of transfer windows I can see big leap as he'll implement an identity.
