Petition for new election

There's zero chance of anything happening at all.

At the next election, like every other one since 1979, we'll have the choice of the Red wing of the Uniparty or the Blue wing of the Uniparty.

It will make very little difference which one gains power as they will both make policy choices based on their neoliberal ideology.
I get that and that it would have been a different outcome if 40+ percent that didn't vote did vote, me personally I voted reform

Reform would make no difference at all to the lives of working people, they share the same ideology as the rest, it's just there culture wars issues are the classic ones.

A core purpose of neoliberalism is to convince people TINA so they disengage with the political process. It's been a pretty successful strategy.

There is a reason there have been very few Labour PMs in history but every generation has to find out what happens for themselves and now is this generations time.
That’s because they stick around for a while whereas the Tories change their leader every five minutes 🤣

It's because the Labour party is only allowed to take power when any threats to the existing power structures have been completely removed from it's ranks and it can be "trusted" to make no material changes whatsoever.

1945 is the exception to the above.

They got a nine grand a year rise, from 60,055 to 69,000.

The money has to come from somewhere, so it's coming from pensioners, amongst other people set to lose out
The £s always come from the same place, in the same way:

. parliament authorises via the Supply process . HMT instructs it's own bank (the BofE) to mark up the reserve accounts at recipients retail bank
. BofE must, by law, comply so it marks up the relevant reserve accounts of retail banks and marks down the Consolidated Fund
. Retail banks mark up the deposit accounts of recipients
. New £s injected into the economy every time

All spending is potentially inflationary. If govt believes any particular round of buying things from the private sector/spending is inflationary it can choose how and when to offset it.

Remember, the £3bn for blowing up people in Ukraine didn't require any soul searching or tax rises but they cancelled the Winter Fuel Allowance.

Increased ticket prices and increased ticket sales now that trains are actually running again

Increased ticket prices and increased ticket sales now that trains are actually running again
That's good.
How are the regular commuters paying for these tickets?
They need a pay rise.
So their bosses have to fork out pay rises and put the prices of their products and services up, and the chain of misery continues so that eventually everyone in the UK is affected even if they never go on a train from one year to the next.

Only one thing can save this shambolic parliament and it goes by the name of kermit the frog 🤣🤣🤣giphy.gif

If it worked that way lots of people wouldn't be in the financial state they are in.

As long as there's a buffer stock of "inflation fighters", aka unemployed people, pay rises can be resisted. See private sector pay since 2011.

Can't believe the petition still hasn't resulted in a general election. Almost as if it was as utterly pointless when it got 100 signatures as it is now it's got 3m.
