I'm not allowed to comment and say thanks for sharing something? I mean you took the time to point out that there's a LIKE button on my post? Didn't realize that I shouldn't show appreciation for a good post by actually taking the time to say thanks.

You're allowed to post whatever you like, but when people go around saying "this is great", and "me too", and "I agree", especially 'supporters' who have been here three weeks, it kind of draws attention to the fact that people are posting crap in order to up their post count, usually only for one reason.

It's nothing new, it's been going on for decades, you aren't the 1st, or even the 901st

Well thankfully I haven't been here only 3 weeks.... it's been a whopping 3 months lol. In all seriousness though I get it... I can appreciate what you're saying but maybe before you insinuate that I have ulterior motives take a look at my posts/comments history. If I was trying to just boost my count, I would have been way up there by now. Easy enough to do if I just wanted to blow up forum posts. Most of my comments have all been in the name of trying to help people or continue a conversation. So while I'm sure others are out there just posting anything and everything to boost their count.... It's not what I'm doing. I just actually appreciated a good deal and wanted to say thanks.

In fact if allowed, the admins can take away these 2-3 messages so it doesn't "boost" my count. Again... just wanted to say thank you.
 
I wasn't telling you what you should or shouldn't do, only that certain behaviour is obvious to people who have been here a long time.
If its not for nefarious reasons then that's fine, but it's still superfluous, nothing has been added to the thread.
Admin can and do remove posts every day.
Clicking LIKE is there for a reason, that reason is so that anyone reading threads in the future don't have to wade through forty seven "cheers" and "great stuff" posts before they get to the next worthwhile post in the thread
