It is possible to split virgin media signal

Split in the house or outside the house wouldn't make any difference - it will lower the signal regardless. I'm guessing the 2 way splitter you fitted in the brown box outside was to run a cable into another room so you currently have 1 zgemma in 1 room and your router in another?

il try the 3 way first and see how that goes, any recommendations on the best 3 way to get for the outside?

If i can get the free channels to be stable il take it further :-)
