Help with troubleshooting [SOLVED]

I'd be interested to know why you say Ethernet adaptor is not a good option for Firestick as I have had a similar problem with my bedroom Firestick and going back to Wifi over Ethernet seems to have improved the buffering?

I did test some Ethernet adaptors and I can not get full speed since. Almost of them only reach to under 100 Mpbs even in some case you only get 30 - 40 but with wifi (now lastest Firestick with Wifi 6), you can reach 1000 Mbps.

So I don't need to spend money to Ethernet adaptors to lower my speed

They work though, speed restriction or not.

The cable matters Ethernet adapter will give you 250mb-350mb depending on your connection speed.
No point for the OP because their connection speed is only 75mb and a standard adapter will be fine.
I always prefer Ethernet over WiFi if possible especially if you have a Gigabit port.

100% agreed if you have a gigabit port it’s always worth using Ethernet if you can. I always try to use it too.

Personally I’ve had two fire sticks that I used Ethernet adapters with and one worked well and the other didn’t. Same model fire stick 4k max and same type of Ethernet adapter. Who knows what the difference was lol. With the 4k max I’ve had better success over WiFi. Again…. I have really solid WiFi in the house so that is helpful.

Not to mention…. It’s ridiculous that any device with an Ethernet port has a 100mbps port in 2025 when a gig port is not much more expensive to put in

I have several fs 4k max with ethernet adaptors all work fine.
At the end of the day having a super high speed wont make your iptv or Netflix work any better, as long as its above minimum needed for 4k it will be fine

Agreed with this too! The only time it really matters is on remux files on Emby for me. And honestly for these… my shield works much better than the fire stick anyway lol

With regards to my ethernet connection the router is right next to the fire stick so no power line adaptors are involved. Im going to give it a shot tonight and see how it performs, not had a chance today as been at work but will let you guys know. Thanks

Its not someone I know personally you could say, I could try on a hotspot on my phone and see if that makes any difference.
What happens when you try to play directly on your phone? Via an app on your phone and eliminate the firestick completely? Does it still buffer?

Okay so ive just pretty much sussed it out... its definitely provider issue and I think I was correct about one being a reseller of the other.

So im on the Mac connected to phone hotspot VPN Manchester
Firerstick hardwired into the router VPN Germany

They've both started buffering/stuttering at the same time.

So correct me if Im wrong that's me eliminating the broadband into the house
Confirming my suspicion that one is a reseller of the other and selling a panel through iPTV Editor.

Thanks

Unless you get the url of the server, you'll never know they are both the same provider... Also, doesn't rule out your Internet 100%.best test would be 1 without vpn using broadband, 1 without vpn using mobile data...

That’s true, I’ve got the url for both but one is through iptveditor the xstream-ie.org so not sure what source they’re using to push their service out which I guess is what you mean.

Okay I will give that a shot tomorrow and see if it persists. Surely that would only rule out a VPN discrepancy though ? I may be missing something though.

Edit: Maybe my vpn is the issue, it’s Surfshark. I’ll try the now got it on my phone and TV no VPN on phone.

Cheers

Yeah so phone on mobile data no VPN and Firestick on VPN.

Both stuttering at same time so definitely linked providers & definitely a provider issue!

Now time to look for a new one 😑😂
