Has LG OLED TVs changed?

Yes mate.

YouTube works, so can cast a video from YouTube to TV, no issue.

Something happened with an update etc that meant the Chromecast built-in disconnected. It knows the TV and recognises it but at the last stage instead of displaying my phone screen or any photos I select, it brings up the home page saying ' Chromecast built-in disconnected' message at the bottom of that screen.

Plus YouTube works. So we've isolated it to that.

I can try LG live chat tmw. We need to learn how to connect it manually or something they do.

LG live chat said do factory reset. Joke.

So much work to get the settings back.

Something has happened that has turned the in built Chromecast off. I asked if there weas a menu option to see if its on, they said no.

Had it had a recent firmware upgrade, occasionally some apps get messed up
.
Before I could mirror the mobile screen no issues. So I could navigate websites to show parents things they wanted to buy, on a bigger screen.
Now instead of the mirroring image on the tv of the phone, its bringing up the LG homepage with a message in grey at the bottom, 'Chromecast built-in disconnected'.

Workaround is laptop on HDMI but £2k tv not doing this after 4 months in, lame.

I'm aware there was an update on Thursday/Friday.

Have you tried unplugging the device and router for about 5 minutes to see if that helps i get this msg sometimes to and may sure your not using a VPN and use same connection as your TV.

Router should have no effect if Youtube works.
No VPN.
Same connection to TV, only 1 virgin Wi-Fi source.

You get this message? When did you first get it?

Yes sometimes I get it when I try to screen mirroring not sure why it happens.

Lots of users have had audio dropouts on the G4 after a firmware update last year the only thing that fixed it for me and others not all was a factory reset.
There is a 27 page thread on av forums regarding it.
If you do a factory reset won't you have the updates again, that caused the issue?

You can’t remove the firmware update but resetting to factory fixed the issue for me.
The recent firmware update didn’t cause the audio issue to return for me.
Lots of unhappy users though on AV some have had parts exchanged by engineers.
But I think it’s probably a software issue and something gets corrupted when the firmware is installed.
But I am just guessing tbh.

Sorry meant to update.

It's working now, only thing I did was turn router off and on, only thing I did between when it was not working and when it did work.

Think the Webos update may have done something with the Chromecast.
Youtube from phone to TV was never affected.
