He said originally that terminal was asking for a password but no opportunity to put password in, no idea what he's talking about but you may know.

That's what the email notification said and I got confused when I came to the thread and its a different post. if entering root as username it shouldn't prompt for password on fresh ATV install

sorry my bad, I had made some changes to the script this morning and forgot to comment something out which would have caused the syntax error. fixed now.

Should be sorted now, I had a cable provider set as default and didn't delete it if you left cable netid blank. Sorry about that. Now if you only have a sat box you should not even be prompted for cable netid.

Press the green button on remote and then the red button, if picons is listed then delete them and then press the exit button once to return to the plugins browser. Now press the green button and select Picons and then select either snp.100x60-86x46.light.on.transparent (or dark.on.transparent if using a sly skin)

ah that will cause an issue then sorry. Grogbuild Freerange downloads 23mb of files for use during setup, ie ipk files etc, these are deleted once installed automatically but it would be tight,

Couple of quick questions..
Once free range is in stalled how do we update afterwards..
Is the original download still available somewhere

Hi Rago
You would just need to do regular software updates on the box. I would however suggest backing up your box every now and again though in case software update has a hicup.

The reason I am doing it this way is because if I create an image as I did with the original grogbuild, it could be weeks out of date before you flash it. Doing it this way, you can still flash online to flash latest ATV and then run the command outlined in the first post of this thread so not much more than if you just flashed a grogbuild image.
 
@grog cheers for reply pal it runs great on my h2h but still struggling with the h52tc but have a few days off from tomorrow so gonna try again

What issues are you having on the H52tc? this is my second box (bedroom) so obviously is a box I test on and works great for me.
 
Done all sorts think there may be a fault somewhere because even when I rename box my hub still picks it up as a Zgemma and not Xbox so gonna flash it with a bare bones image an start again

Probably obvious, have you tried putting box in deep standby and then turning the router off for a few seconds and then once the router is back online turn the box back on.
 
I've got red as well on both of my boxes, try again later. This is not specific to the build, you will probably find any ATV based build will have same.
 
zgemma h9t running cable

todays update kept turning my box off after sfarting to download.eventually I had to install latest atv and start again.no updates now.hope next update doesnt do the same…..when box came new I had to do this too as it kept turning off then until I done fresh atv.mad….hope I aint got a dodgy box h9t
