So you used a different card and entered fake indian address and it worked even though the address on the card didn't match? or am I missing something?

That's exactly correct, was a starling card, but I guess I had to authorise the first card in the app. So maybe maybe just using the card details. Like you would in a shop? ( It was the same banks card)

was this just signed into youtube on a browser or an app on a phone like ios?

I only ask as my mrs has an Argentina one setup and is also using a starling card but has had the local card required email.

I was just on my laptop, no vpn or nothing. I think when I first set it up, I had entered a fake indian address, not sure if I used a vpn when I first set it up.

A little update: I got the dreaded email a few weeks ago saying 'change to a Turkish payment card, or your premium subscription will end on 21 Nov' (i.e. today). I updated my account a few days ago and used a different card (though still a UK card – Revolut) and it seems to have auto-renewed today - hopefully means my account survives for another month!

I updated my account a few days ago and used a different card (though still a UK card – Revolut) and it seems to have auto-renewed today - hopefully means my account survives for another month!

I got the email a few weeks ago and did nothing, as youtube doesn't really bother me but they took my payment as normal yesterday, although my cut of date isn't until 5th December

Try wots posted above, set your vpn on wotever device your watching youtube on to Albania. Start youtube and its add free. Make sure you set youtube to run through the vpn. Working here for me on phone and firesticks, although one user saying it had stopped working for him 👍.... Paul

Which country is your YouTube account set to, UK, or Albania, just wondering if that makes any difference to making it work, I tried it a while ago, but it did not work with the vpn set to Albania, I still got ads, but my Google /YouTube account is set to India.

Re Alibaba i just signed up to a Spotify premium account £16 for 12 months.Bit of a palavah as asked to cancel order then pay again,hand over user details for Spotify they then add you to a family plan.All seems to be working tho.Would think it would be similar to a Youtube account.

i got the email last month and expected my premium to stop . as i couldnt think of anything to do immediately i made a virtual card in revolut and put rupees on it. they took the rupees and no email warnung yet. the revolut card is still paid out in this country so card isnt indian derivation so i may get another warning but another month next payment jan 2025.

Guys on android... would you not consider Youtube Revanced ? It involves downloading the original Youtube android app and then 'patching' (built in automatically) all the junk, tracking and ads infested within the app and lets you install what is a premium version of YT with login available. Not sure if there is an alternative available for Apple devices but for android TV as one of the other guys mentioned Smart tube and newpipe are also good for adfree, the latter a bit of a pain setting up account.

For my self yes but with kids and casting to the screens it's not ideal.

I use Video Lite for iOS and Smarttube for Android.
