Thank you for the invitation. I probably can't post it in the forums but I have three of them in PM's now. Here we come.

Was finally able to make changes to the old one but mostly for the V7 not much for the V8.

I used DB Editor 2.2 to make a US satellite list. It has 40 sats with one transponder each for location purposes.
I'm also in the process of scanning the entire arc (what I can see).

Here's the list and I'll post the full arc scan when it gets done scanning. :happy:

I'm having a great time and if you guys haven't gotten yourself a V8 Super yet, get ya one! You'll love it.
I'll post some details about the editor and things when I get time. I've been digging around a little bit.

I used DB Editor 2.2 to make a US satellite list. It has 40 sats with one transponder each for location purposes.
I'm also in the process of scanning the entire arc (what I can see).

Using the editor2.2 program I edited these following files which are located under the “conf” folder.
V8_ComboProA5S_config.xml
V8_SuperGolden_config.xml
freesat_v7_config.xml
Only changing several items that were listed as “false” and changed them to “true”
However, in the V7 file there were a few lines that were changed from true to “false”
When finished I was able to use the editor program and the value side increased on the V7 for Satellite changes to 22 inputs that could be changed without causing any problems.
The line where it has the misspelling of “Longtitude” was not changed to TRUE!!
I even attempted to change the spelling correctly but it made no difference.
If you change this line it will cause you problems when sending your user file back to the receiver.
The channel editing value section increased to 29 items available to edit on the V7 file.
Now on the V8 file, keeping in mind the same item about the “Longtitude” misspelling, I was able to increase the editing on the Satellites to 24 items and the channels now has 31 items that can be edited with this editor program.

tested it...when changing channels I get a squeky sound.
adult list is on there too so I will give this channel list a miss, apart from that everything else is ok. cheers

Is it a big advantage the new channel list for super/golden?

Its new and working----always ensure you have a copy of your line [just in case lol] also go into menu and enable the LCN then install v.bin file via usb key..
The file contains the adult channels but you can go to support forum downloads and obtain the no adult version of the file.

Menu/Installation/Search Setting/LCN on
Network config---press 6666 on remote---click open cs protocol---CCcam---press ok for server---lines will appear in servers 1-4

Ok no need to worry about it as it only sticks numbers by the channels as a guide---so no panic button needed lol Its not a requirement.

reaper,im loading your channel list for my golden.the list is there but no channels showing just a blank screen when i click on them,
even fta.any ideas?? do i need latest firmware for it to work?? only way i can get anything on my box when the list is loaded, is to
reset to factory,then do a blind scan!!

Always ensure you have latest firmware before any upgrade.
If list doesn't work first time then don't keep trying.
Its not my list--it was posted by admin on the support forum. It worked on my boxes and worked for others but some say it doesn't work for them.
So if in doubt--leave it out.
