FREE SS IPTV APP - For Samsung and LG Smart TVs - Idiots Guide.

Can you not use something like pastebin. Set it to none public. And then click on the raw data button to get your url. That might work.

yeah but the internal playlist, you can only have one big long file. It's much better seperating everything out.

Yeah I'd hate to be trawling through all channels when I can separate them all as playlists in the external playlist section

I finally figured it out using kiddacs suggestion of PasteBin.
This is briefly what I did.
1) Download preferred bouquet from Openwebif
2) Open the .m3u file you just downloaded in Notepad (any text program will suffice)
3) Ctr+A select all and copy
4) Open up Pastebin.com - #1 paste tool since 2002! and paste in where it says 'New Paste'. Give it a Paste Title
5) Click 'Create New Paste'
6) It may go through a spam detected verification process. Just go along with it and prove your not a robot.
7) Now just click on your web URL address and it should be something like this http://pastebin.com/sDJ9HqOP
8) Go to the SS IPTV app and go to the settings cog. Clickbon content. Scrollbto ExternalPlaylist. Give it a title and put the PasteBin url into the address. Make sure you hit save and all should be working

Thanks will give this a try.

Did you not have to click the raw button. Did it just work with the default pastebin address.

And if you want to edit your pastebin file in the future and use the same address. Just register with pastebin.

The default pastebin address worked as well as the raw one too. I forgot to mention that you can make it unlisted instead of public bit I don't know if that entirely matters. I had mine as unlisted.
I do believe I rushed into this and I will add there is a character limit. So not all channels will be listed when pasting such a big list. I think 33 channels tops.

New Update!
After messing about I got it nailed down to a tee. Here's what to do.
1) Download preferred bouquet from Openwebif
2) If you haven't already create/sign up to Dropbox and download app on to your PC or phone
3) Upload your .m3u file to Dropbox (please note it will help to have named this file before hand so you can separate your bouquets. Mine was 'Sports.m3u' )
4) Right Click on the .m3u file which you want to share and now a dropdown menu will appear.
5) Select 'ShareLink' option and you’ll get the File Sharing Link which should look like this 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfjk7o2trla1mb9/Sports.m3u?dl=0'
6) If you looked at kiddacs starter post his ShareLink didn't contain 'www.dropbox.com', it had 'dl.dropboxusercontent.com' instead.
7) Replace 'www.dropbox.com' with 'dl.dropboxusercontent.com' into your share link so you get something like 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfjk7o2trla1mb9/Sports.m3u?dl=0' which now looks like 'https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/sfjk7o2trla1mb9/Sports.m3u?dl=0'
8) Go to the SS IPTV app and go to the settings cog. Click on content. Scroll to ExternalPlaylist. Give it a title matching your .m3u file and put the dl.dropboxusercontent.com link you just renamed into the address. Make sure you hit save and all should be working

Finally you can save a lot of button pressing/typing if you copy and paste your share link into an URL shortener.

Hope all this helps.

Presume same procedure would work on plex app on firestick? I've used dreamplayer before but for some reason it buffers to much whereas plex content streams perfectly

@kiddac

Will this only stream on a second TV that is samsung or LG?

I have a different make in my other room.

So dont really want to waste time trying this if wont make on a different make TV.

samsung and lg is mentioned as I know this ss iptv app is available in their app stores. These instructions are solely for the ss iptv app. If you got that app on another brand of tv it will be the same.
If you haven't there maybe similar iptv apps that you can use by taking some of the information from this thread

Hi,

I got my Samsung TV set up with the Smart IPTV app and used playlist within a public folder (dropbox).. Thank for the handy tips guys.

One question, can you not get an EPG on this app / setup?
