...recently my 'acquaintance's' VOD has been a bit thin - anyone else feeling that it may be across the board?
Kinema is showing fewer blockbusters, and seems to only have .RU servers, which I'm naturally wary of.
Is there a new kid on the block (app-wise) that is worth a look?

S0...I bought a Shield pro 4k. Took it to developer mode, and set about creating a setup.
IT wont let me add my paid-for vpn. It won't let me change my dns. ...(for 'security reasons')
My Gl-iNet router has becomet ropey too

This seems rather odd, views on whether my fellow 'dissapearing' is related to this, and my firestick bricking.
Feels like the end of the road. ....or am I being a tart?

Why won't it let you add your VPN? How are you trying to add this and what error message do you get?

I'm going to guess your Shield is getting it's DNS from the DHCP server (likely your home router). What are you looking to do by changing the DNS? What DNS server are you trying to change it to?

I actually can't remember the exact wording...I downloaded the apk, actually installed it and got to username and password. It may be related to 'Downloader' I think. I used easyfire tools and got similar message -The dns was cloudsflares free one. I couldn't get Syncler up and running, and in that contect the stbemu , streaming and vpn aps on the landing page all begin to seem fishy

I would try one app at a time at the moment.
What happened when you added your username and password to the vpn login?

It said for security reasons this app is not allowed ( or words to that effect {it was a long shift for an old git)

Have you been through the this process and enabled unknown sources.
Go to Settings > Apps > Security & Restrictions > Unknown Sources.

First thing I did.
Debugging is on.
The vpn I use is on the Play store, but it wouldn't let it download onto the Shield.
I sideloaded the apk, and it installed..then as I said before.
1.1.1.1 couldn't be downloaded..
At one point a message idicated the ISP was involved somehow.

Who is your isp and have you rebooted your router?
Test an app like YouTube and see if it works correctly.
Don’t understand why you can’t download apps from the play store on your shield, is your Internet connected properly?
