If it were me, I'd be checking to confirm that you have both power feeds (permanent & memory) with a power probe electrical tester..
I'm not doubting you've not plug the connectors in correctly, but a fuse may have blown.
I haven't experienced the problem with Chrysler radios but with Vauxhall radios, if both power feeds aren't present and a fuse has blown, the radio won't accept the correct code, as it can't store the code.
If both power feeds are present, then the radio has been re-coded, in which case I'd read the eeprom memory chip using an eeprom programmer.
I realise that most code requesters usually don't have an eeprom programmer and most importantly the skills to do this without damaging the radio,
so I'd advice taking the radio to a workshop based radio decoding service in your area.

There's always this possibility that a radio can be faulty, but I've seen many times where the workshop based radio decoder has just simply replaced the eprom memory dump of one where the code is known, and that's why
the serial number code doesn't match the code stored in the radio.... nothing wrong with the radio just needs the matching code (the radio coder's did this in the early days because they didn't know where the code was stored on the chip
or knew the algorithm... usually)
Hey, I don't know what the price of decoding a radio is now adays as I'm long since retired from doing that work, but we use to charge a £10. Sure, some older well used radios might not consider paying that, but aftermarket radios are
always available.
