Check your NI contributions for state pension entitlement

Can anyone explain why I still won't get the full pension after over 40 years of full NI contributions?
I know it's only 7 quid but it's bothering me!

I haven't got 40 years and I qualify for full pension, so not sure mate. How long befor you reach 66, I've still got 12 months to go, but mine won't go up even after paying 12 more months NI
I think it's about £186 quid each year to catch up, for people with missing years who are approaching state pension age.... Paul

£186 is class 2, yes once you have contributed over 35 years you will gain nothing more.

When I was about 17 plastering then also, our boss came in asked if we wanted to go into a pension called Serps. Told him to leg it.
It's free he says.
Wot are we waiting for I say, sign me up, 45 years later, it paid me out £12000.Never cost me a penny, and hasn't affected me state pension. Don't even know or care wot it was, nice though.... Paul

Kinda what the various governments want hence raising the retirement age bit by bit.

Don't succumb to their plan mate (y)
I don't have any next of kin, so the money I've paid in will just stay in the pot, only to be wasted on some nonsense by whichever bell-end government is in at the time. :)
