Bouquet Maker Xtream and EPG Importer

I've installed both Bouquet Maker Xtream and EPG Importer to my Zgemma i55 Plus box.

I've added my IPTV providers DNS and my login details to Bouquet Maker and all is good with that side of things, however when I go into EPG Importer and try to my provider as a source they ain't showing as a possible selection.

My provider definitely has EPG as it is on another box in my house.

Any help is appreciated

Thank you.

have you actually went into BMX and selected bouquets and channels you want and then made bouquets.

in epgimporter
Load EPG only services in bouquets select No
Load EPG only for IPTV Channels select No

And are you pressing blue button to go to sources.
Setting are already at that and yes pressing blue button to go to sources my my provider ain't there.
Only Rytec, Azmam, Russian and Koala.

I'm on OpenAtv 7.4 if that helps

is your provider in /etc/epgimport
you should have bouquetmakerxtream.sources.xml and example bouquetmakerxtream.YOUR_IPTV.xml

and your provider xml file should have channel epg_id's if no id then none can be imported.
I would run BMX again and select update bouquets then try epgimporter again

Both of these are in etc/epgimport and the provider xml file also contains channels epg_ids.

EDIT....
Uninstalled then reinstalled BMX and all working perfectly now.

Thank you so much Urie you're a credit to this forum, such a massive help and very appreciated.

Plugins haven't been updated to work with python 3.13, atv 7.6 is due to be completed by summer 2025.
In short, flash an earlier image, 7.4 or 7.5

There is no problem I am using BMX on openatv 7.5.1 and 7.6 alpha
OpenATV 7.6 – Discussion & New Features - Linux Satellite Support Community
Key Changes in OpenATV 7.6:

  • First OpenATV image with Python 3.13 and OpenSSL 3.4.0.
  • Attention: All closed IPK packages delivered only as PYC/SO files are no longer compatible.
  • It will likely take several weeks/months for developers to provide updated versions of these closed IPKs.
  • Please be patient and do not spam plugin and skin developers with requests – updates will come.
  • The final version of OpenATV 7.6 is expected to be released in summer 2025, provided no major issues arise.

1 person says BMX is not working and you are advising him to go back to 7.4 or 7.5 which are EOL he could try current version openatv 7.5.1 , but I still suspect there will still be problems we do not even know what device user is using.

Just because an image is EOL doesn't mean it doesn't work, - millions of people are still using 6.4, most people only change when their existing setup stops doing what they want it to.
He tried his plugin on 7.6 and it didn't work.

Telling him to stick with it 'because it's new' even though he can't watch TV, is kind of defeating the object

pablo You still do not get it one person says bmx is not working on openatv 7.6 alpha have you even tried it because it does work and also he had not used bmx before .

Do you not think more members would be on here saying BMX is not working ,
and yes milions may still use 6.4 but that is not the point.

No its not the point, the point is, he wanted to watch iptv and he couldn't.
He installed it and it didn't work, others have done the same, check recent posts.
They've removed it and installed 7.4 or 7.5 and it worked.

Maybe in summer when the finished image is released, everything will be fine, but no doubt 7.7 will be released by then and people will be encouraged to dump the EOL 7.6 and install something else that is full of bugs

ok pablo fair enough yes i agree openatv seem to be quick at moving on , I must be lucky using bmx have four iptv providers running , and no reports on official bmx support page that it is not working so i am out of this conversation.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, obviously it does. You're using it, others obviously are too.
Some people can't get it to work.
In these cases, instead of spending days trying to track down config problems or possible provider problems, it's easier just to use something that is known to be stable.
