I was never a Apple fan, I do not have any Apple devices in my home, and for some crazy reason (no nvidia shields are available to buy), so I got myself a Apple TV 4k and hot damn it is a nice change.
The main difference I feel between it and other cheaper android devices, except the price of course, is the way Apple is running the apps in the background.
There's no freaking delay when switching between apps, as they are running in the background. You know, like opening PLEX for the forth time and waiting as your library is huge AF (thanks android).
Which could be a learning curve for non apple users as I found out that when I exit my IPTV app with the Home Button (Android Practice), the stream was still running in the background, which is funny as there were no sounds or indications.
Long story short, the Apple TV looks like its stuck in 2010, when it comes to design, but it works flawlessly. And of course, every single app costs or is a insane subscription. But when you think about it, if you have money for that device, you probably have money for the apps. Not sure, looks and feels like a Apple mindset.
Anyways, back to apps:
SWIPTV
(+) UI UX is the best, definetly one of the best apps I have ever used including TiviMate.
(-) It's not cheap, once upon a time there was a lifetime licence, but yeah, there's none anymore :)
IPTVX
Can't say anything really about it except that it didn't sit with me well, for some reason idk <3
UHF - decided on this one
(+) Cheap, there is a lifetime price which is acceptable
(+) Looks good with some small issues
(-) The decision behind the usage of COLORs in this app is maybe a great IDEA or concept, but in reality it's a shitshow. 70% of the TV logos are almost invisible in the TV Guide as it gets the logo color and puts it as a background
(-) It's missing a lot of settings that you would expect to be customizable, Appereance, Default Screen Selection etc.
