I would say as Ferret suggested Gigablue UE 4K or Octagon SF8008 with IPTV sub with Catch Up. I prefer E2 boxes above Android and they generally works very well but it's up to you it depends what you are happy setting up and using. Obviously Android is much easier to set up than E2 but I just find you have far more flexibility with E2 but I'm sure that not all will agree.

Yeh I still have a gigablue as my main box mainly because I run freesat and IPTV combined
It’s a great box and had it for few years now after upgraded from zgemma
If you know how to set it up properly then it runs iptv no problems

Finding a service with catchup would be best since recording can be annoying otherwise, especially if you want to record while watching the same channel. Many apps even support downloading catchup which will be much quicker compared to live recordings that go second by second.

That all depends on what you want to record and yes some providers do have catchup but not for all channels and a lot of catchup can be in SD , yes it can be a hit and miss recording iptv but you really should have a multiroom connection then you can record and watch another channel depending on device
with example a Gigablue UE 4K with fbc tuner recording satellite channels is a breeze even better with unicable

Just setup my kickpi kp1 with sparkle for record to a 256gb USB stick, and that seems to be working perfectly 👍🏻
