2024 Favorite Box for IPTV??

I'm sure this has been asked/posted a 100 times over.... but I am curious as to what people are using right now. As we are closing up on 2024 (Happy Holidays everyone!!!) what is everyone's favorite box they use for IPTV playback and other home media needs? Personally I'm all over the place. I have 2019 Shield Pros on two tvs, an apple TV 4k on one and an Onn 4k Pro on the other. I think I love to tinker to much haha. My use case is IPTV and a personal Emby server.

The shield really is the best device still I've come across for local media playback plus IPTV, but am always open to new things that people love and why!

Ugoos am8 for me….
Tivimate for iptv.
Kodi and Syncler for TV/Movies.
Full audio pass through and supports all major codecs.

I've been looking into buying another android box. I've got the current shield pro but i get an audio drop of about a second now and then. I've been looking at the mecool km2 plus deluxe and also the ugoos sk1 but that's a lot of money.

I did like the specs of KM2 deluxe to replace a Fire Stick Max but saw a few problems by users on Reddit.

I’d say the Shield Pro is still top tier for IPTV and local media playback hard to beat its performance.
For tinkering, Apple TV 4K is great too, but if you’re after something new, maybe check out the Firestick 4K Max for its simplicity and speed.
Always fun to try new setups.
 
Something about not going into standby and software delays.If you google it you will see the reddit posts.
The new Google Streamer might be an option i never realised it came with 32gb of storage and 3gb of ram.
Also has gigabyte ethernet if i can pick one up used and cheap i might go for t.

I found sheild bit and miss. Not sure about firesticks others can comment.

I keep wanting to try the formuler out... but I've stopped myself because I wouldn't be able to play DV files on Emby. That's what stops me there. I'm hoping the z12 or whatever comes next can do that!

I do love Infuse. It's an awesome app for all playback... just wish the Apple TV had audio passthrough. If it did.... it would be the ultimate device at this point for me.
 
Favourite box for IPTV? Not saying it's the best but we still use the humble E2 (VU Duo 4k SE). The main living room STB that keeps Terrestrial, Motor Satellite & IPTV together with a hard drive for recording and a familiar type of remote control for all the family to use with minimum bother.

I've tried most things and nothing has topped the shield as an allrounder with tivimate premium, it just works superbly. Instant on with a press on the remote and were off.

I have just sold all my shields apple 4k tv has blown me away with the addition of vpn and iptv apps it works so much better than my shields did and infuse is just awesome
