I'm looking for recommendations for a TV Box

I recently picked up Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen - Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen) - Xiaomi Global

However it is a typical Android Experience - Can't customise the Home screen, its just a full blown advert all the time with my apps dropped to the bottom of the page v the adverts which are front and center

On that note, are there any recomendations of a TV box

it must be able to run Proton VPN (or the wireguard app), Plex and/or Emby and/or jellyfin, preferably in there own app not a browser
Youtube with ad blocking (be that something like revanced, or ublock & sponsorblock in a browser)
Maybe the F1 app
It would be good if there were randomised MACs
I'm sure there are other things i'm missing - but i'll worry about that down the line

If your happy with the box and it's just th3 bloatware or ads that annoy you then consider adding a launcher such as projectivity...should clear the home screen and make it a nicer user experience..can try before you buy..

i have been messing with launchers

It looks like it takes a bit of faffing to make them stick on this version of Android TV

So i went for it

I installed this launcher - Projectivy Launcher - Apps on Google Play

I used this - ADB TV: App Manager - Apps on Google Play
Paid for premium - Used the remote ADB

And ran 4 commands
Get current launcher (Save that value case you want to revert):

cmd shortcut get-default-launcher

Set Projectivy Launcher as default:

cmd package set-home-activity com.spocky.projengmenu/com.spocky.projengmenu.ui.home.MainActivity

Disable original Google TV launcher. (Different apps if you use other OS):

pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx
pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith

It was much Simplier than i expected
