Audio drop outs for 1 second.

Not an easy one this one. So got an iptv provider happy with that. Now i have a samsung qe55q80t tv and a sonos beam and play wireless rear speakers, I'm currently using homematics r 4k box. Same problem with nividia shield 2022 version. Using tivimate and watching programs like blue bloods I'm getting an annoying 1 second audio drop randomly. I have changed hdmi cables, factory reset the tv, dropped the 4k splitter so its direct. I've sent a file to sonos to check and they say nothing wrong other than a bit of interference. I've followed all the online fault finding i can. So i thought i would ask here before i buy a new tv ect. The odd thing is i have just played the same show blue bloods twice using xstreamity on my satellite box and i have not heard any drop outs. I also happens on other shows. I think the satellite box outputs ts feeds. Would anyone know what output tivimate on android boxes use?

I also have a new dreambox play i can test on and a mecool box too. Can any one recommend any other iptv players i could try out and test, possibly with ts stream output.

It sounds like possible codec issue with tivimate normally using external player helps. Try kodi.

I dont think anything is wrong with tv as it plays perfectly through enigma box.

One final check you could try is connect sub to your tv and test on that

What is the setup? e.g. Are all the boxes connected direct to the tv and that soundbar uses eARC, or do all the boxes go through the soundbar? And does the soundbar and tv have hdmi 2.0 or 2.1 ports>

If the issue is just with tivimate, it may be an exoplayer issue. Perhaps try switching the player to VLC.

Thanks Mike and Drox for your replies.

Setting up is gigablue sat box hdmi1, homematics android box hdmi 2, sonos beam on hdmi 3 earc, qviart dual sat box hdmi 4. All 3 boxes connected via ethernet cable. Swapped so many hdmi cables for the latest ones and swapped two different android boxes and the fault still exist. All the hdmi ports have been switched around in various guises and all boxes taken out an just the android box plus sonos tried. I beleive it also happended when i tried using smarters app too. Trying audio passthrough as we speak as recommended. I can also try vlc player as external player with tivimate.

Do you have an Aerial connected to the TV for terrestial TV ?
Reason i ask is i have a Q85R and had a similar problem.

The problem i had was the Freeview channel was tuned to an HD channel even tho like you i never used it.For some weird reason tuning to an SD channel fixed the problem 🤔

Well i have tried audio pass through and unfortunately that did not fix the problem, i have changed player to mxplayer and tried vlc player although vlc is set incorrectly and i could not use it. Mx player still had the audio drop outs. I think it's a hardware issue between samsung and sonos but its hard to prove. There are threads on the net about it. Does anyone know of another player like tivimate i could try? I've tried my suppliers smarters and i have other options too but i like tivimate as its easy to navigate.

If it works fine with your satellite box, I am thinking it is perhaps a software issue with android or some incompatiblity between android and samsung, rather than a hardware issue.

Is it possible to connect the shield or homatics direct to the soundbar?

I am not 100 per cent sure but i don't think so. The sound bar is a sonos beam and the only input it has it hdmi in. It does not even had a optical input either.

Try disabling "Input Signal Plus" on your Samsung TV (on the port that the iptv box is connected to).

Edit: actually try disabling input signal plus on all ports if disabling the port on iptv box doesn't fix it.

I think that will disable hdr too?
Last time I disabled it I honestly couldn't tell the difference but I can't remember whether HDR was still working. If it messes with HDR then it would be an issue obviously, but going by other Avforum posts HDR works fine with it disabled.

Mines newish
In that case not sure what the issue could be. Is yours a 9 series model or something else? Maybe their flagship models have different features compared to midrange etc. ?
Or...
I'm using a firestick 4k so maybe that could play a part too?

Edit: this is from Avforums: "Yes - it enables hdr etc via hdmi. I think with their older sets you had to enable but their newer ones automatically detect if a hdr signal is being received"

That's input signal plus

That's input signal plus
Oh I thought they meant it enabled HDR without Input Signal Plus like it does on mine. Reading it again I think they mean that Input signal+ is enabled automatically.

This one seems to suggest HDR still works for them like on mine...

"I still don't know what this does, however I've solved my problem.

I disabled Input Signal Plus. Rebooted the Apple TV, it downgraded to 4:2:2 Chroma. I don't actually know the difference between 4:4:4 and 4:2:2.

I still have UHD and HDR.

Without the flickering and flashing when I turn the TV, Amp & Apple TV on.

Job done! (Although I'd want to know what this setting is for at some point)."
