Can you download Ublock or something similar on Hisense ULED Mini-LED Smart TV

Don’t think you can. Had a look on the App Store on my Hisense tv a couple weeks ago and there’s not much on there at all, so would be amazed if there was an ad blocker on there.

Try the adguard dns or something simillar. it`s bocking add`s on ITVX atm for me, But some apps will vary and Adds may still come through as they are embedded into the streams on some sites.

Is there anyway to find downloader on Hisense. I could then add these other items.

I can't check on living room TV at the moment, I punctured heating pipe and had to take telly of the wall. Waiting on plumber.

Hi, just follow this tutorial...It may slightly differ from TV Model to TV Model. But it` basically identical in outcome, I found this write up via a quick google search.
Just follow this on your smart TV from within settings and you should be ok to test its performance...it will definitely vary from source to source.

Preparation: What You Need Before You Start

Before you start to configure AdGuard DNS on your TV, it’s essential to have a few things ready. First, ensure that your TV is connected to the internet, either through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Second, make sure you have the AdGuard DNS IP addresses handy. The primary AdGuard DNS IP address is 94.140.14.14 and the secondary address is 94.140.15.15. Having these IP addresses will be crucial for the setup process.

Now that you’re prepared, follow these detailed steps to access the network settings on your TV:

  2. Navigate to All Settings by selecting the gear icon usually located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Under All Settings, scroll down and select Network.
  4. Choose the network type you’re using, either Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  5. For Wi-Fi, click on the connected network. For Ethernet, simply proceed with the configuration.
  6. Go to Advanced Wi-Fi Settings or Advanced Ethernet Settings depending on your connection type.
Inputting AdGuard DNS IP Addresses and Saving Changes

Once you have accessed the advanced settings, follow these steps to input the AdGuard DNS IP addresses:

  1. In the advanced settings menu, locate the DNS Server option.

It’s crucial to save these changes to ensure that your TV routes all DNS queries through AdGuard DNS servers, enhancing your privacy and security effectively.

Verifying That AdGuard DNS Is Active on Your TV

After configuring the DNS settings, you should verify that AdGuard DNS is active on your TV. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open the web browser on your TV.

You don`t need to install anything, just follow the instructions above. Smart TV will not have any downloader app unfortunately and you just can`t install .apk`s either, Just the basic apps that will come in its OS.
Good luck!

Will try that out. Thanks so much for the detailed way to get this.
First plumber never turned up

another option is to use adguard or something similar to block ads at the router level. This is awesome bc it blocks it on all devices, even your phones

It works on ads.

It actually works on ITVx, Channel 4, Ch5 and other advert related programmes. I discovered this two days ago while watching ITVx film. No adverts it just paused for a second and continued with the movie. Thanks so much for your help. Sorry for the late reply but as I was looking at preventing You tube adverts (still looking).

Trying to add Smart Tube to Hisence TV but it doesn't allow downloader. Any help would be great

Thanks Polosolo

You need android tv GitHub - yuliskov/SmartTube: SmartTube - an advanced player for set-top boxes and tvs running Android OS

Try and see if you can use DuckDuckGo browser as tried that on laptop and seems to work.

Opera i have Origin running and still get ads.

I had a look at GitHub but just could not discover what I really need to do? Checked GitHub on youtube last night trying to get an explanation on how to use Github, really complicated.
I pointed you to github so you could read what devices it would work on , as I mentioned you need real android os from what i have read you will have VIDAA Smart OS so not possible to use SmartTube.

Thanks for that, so Vidaa smart os is the boss

The best way to avoid adverts on YouTube on devices where you can't install uBlock origin is to go for YouTube Premium - I use Gamsgo

I've tried PiHole's and various DNS services and from all my testing, they did not block adverts. The only consistent solution I've found was uBlock origin, but I don't know how reliable this is now, as I've been using YouTube Premium for over a year.

YouTube (Google) are not daft and they are imbedding adverts into the content now. Twitch do this so that browser extensions can't block the adverts. The adverts are coming from the same source as the content, so blocking adverts would also be blocking the content.
