PS4 Wireless headset fix

Hi. So I have just bought a PS4 and realised that there is no optical audio port so I can't get my Afterglow wireless headset that worked on my old ps3 , working on this piece of crap!!!
Q1. Can this be fixed?
Q2. How easily?
Q3. Would I be better buying a new compatible headset?

Please help

How do I connect my Afterglow headset to my ps4?

1. Connect USB transmitter to the front of the PS4.
2. On your PS4 go to Setting=> Sound and Screen => Audio Output Settings=> Primary Output Port=> Select Digital Out Optical. From there select the Linear options, DO NOT select Dolby, DTS, or ACH. Be sure to save your settings.
3. Go to Settings => Devices=> Audio Devices.

Yeah but it's about 4yrs old and only was previously connected via optical audio lead
