Hi all,

I'm thinking of reflashing my Octagon SF8008 box with the latest Willobuild. I'm currently running Grogbuild / ATV 6.4.

I'm just wondering what the general though was, should I update or just stick with my current setup?

Also wondering if I was to update does Willobuild have XE, Xstreamity and Sly Q skins in the downloadable plugins, or do these need to be downloaded separately?

At the moment with ATV/Grogbuild there are issues with Autobouquetsmaker whereby I need to set it to London, not my actual region to stop ABM crashing. There's also issues with the Freesat channel 5, 5star etc channels not working properly. Are there similar issues with your build? Thanks
 
I'm not sure to be honest. It will use the latest version and I haven't heard about any problems with it.
 
You can just flash my build to another partition and leave ATV untouched.
Just try it and if it doesn't work, boot back into ATV from the multiboot menu.
 
The Freesat crash in ABM was fixed. We can't compile a version to run on older images.

If you have updated the satellites.xml and performed an Enigma2 scan and still can't receive those channels, you are going to have look at your dish etc. Changing image won't resolve reception issues.

Some great advice by Willow about using a different partition and leaving original one as it is.

This is due to Grogbuild using old ATV, using up to date images ATV or Vix shouldn't have the same problems
 
Thanks guys for all the information. @grog68 thanks, Grogbuild has been running fine on my box, just looking at new builds etc as I update all my boxes every so often. Cheers
 
Going to give this a go tonight. Looking at the setup instructions it looks pretty straight forward. My box running Grogbuild is currently connected via WiFi not cable to router. Will I be able to run the install over WiFi? It's just i read that my box must have a network connection and hope than doesn't mean by cable?

Best to hard wire if possible then reconnect to wifi after flashing new image.
 
Hi,

I am in the process of trying to install Willobuild. I have my box hard wired to the router and connected via putty. Following the instructions I've got past the partition section then got to a line of code asking me to replace octagon image version and also replace octagon kernel.bin. (the box hasn't rebooted). Should I say yes or no to this? I don't see these exact questions in the setup.

Any help would be great. Thanks
 
Thanks, have answered yes to both the above lines, the next line asks replace roofs.tar.bz2? I've answered yes to that as well. The code runs for a few seconds then I get a message saying "Error: cannot flash kernel, because no kernel file was found".

Any ideas, apologies.
