Thanks for the advice. Only have the one partition setup as was unsure on the multi boot stuff but will try it out as your right I can go back to current image if there is a problem.

Final question do i use the willobuild script from the instructions doc presume it installs the latest vix

Yes, latest ViX and brand new willobuild.

You really want to take 15 minutes and try out the willo stuff it is the real Mccoy unlike these day by day outdated python 2 pre builds Vix top bannana pabs and it works on your box.

I'll probably have a bash at it but it's taken me six years to get used to atv.
I've never used Vix but encountered it when TeamViewer into other boxes, never got on with it, nothing was where I expected it to be and I've no patience with electronics not doing as they're told.
I'm going to need to flash newer atv now py3 has settled down, no builds.
I may put Vix on the other partition

ATV,Vix,Pli all seem the same to me,just menu items in different locations and two of the images come with the softcam plugins installed.

It's all down to personal preference, they do much the same, I prefer ATV but that's purely because that's what I got used to and I couldn't get my head round the VIX menus. Saying that, I find it hard work keeping up with ATV these days, seem to be updating regularly.

Answering a bit late but it does not matter if he has image on another partition you just do a complete backup and then you can do what you want restore that backup to any partition you want. that is the great thing about stb's that can multiboot I often move images from one partiton or slot to another.

Evening all...hope you're doing well. Am just in the process of putting WilloBuild on a zGemma H5.2S using the script on PuTTY and there is no option for this box on the list...could someone let me know how to get past this stage please?...do you use one of the alternative box numbers?

Older zgemma boxes aren't supported by vix. Try grogbuild

Openvix never supported the early zgemma model's they do the newer boxes
