VM cables issue

OK so I have my h2h up and running with a test line. All working good.
So I have already canceled my VM TV package. VM want the boxes and cables returned.
I have satellite cable leads there that I used on a Star view box years ago.
But when I swapped the cables over all I'm getting is fta channels.
Do I need new cables or am I missing something?

Just tell them they can have their boxes but you disposed of the cables because you didn't need them. As long as you return the box and power cable they will be fine.

They would have been referring to the cables for the equipment - the power cables.

sat cables on a starview or you mean the combo box,i do hope you keep their broadband.

Yes I am keeping broadband just getting rid of TV package.
I have replaced the original VM cable to back of my box and splitter but still only fta channels, nothing else clears.
will I have to re setup my h2h again?
 
Yes I added a 5 day test line last night. its just since I have removed and changed cables its acting up.
I am about to add new line so hopefully sorts it out.
 
If you're using a crap splitter and cables, that will definitely contribute to a poor picture.
