v8 golden & wi-fi ?

anyone using their v8 golden with wifi ? was looking at wifi dongles/ariel whatever theyre called ! might have to move my box to a different room which has my line in but no internet connection and dont fancy running a 30ft cable, anyway is anyone using it & does it perform ok over wifi ? im virgin media 200mb so wifi is not a problem in my home

dongle recommendations will be appreciated if you have one
 
mines wired so no problem there. I assume the wifi dongles used for the skybox/openbox are also ok with the freesat boxes too.
you can pick them up for a few quid on the baye
 
I used one for a short period and it was ok... have you used the V8 Golden yet? if so, i'm guessing you're using the 2ac already then.

A wifi dongle (get the right one though!) is less than a fiver delivered.

Next cheapest is a wifi booster/range extender with an Ethernet port, they're around £8

Then there's homeplugs, probably the best solution, but these are about £25 a pair!

Sorry new to all this my line just says cws and then a lot of letters and number my guy told me needs to be renamed to newcamd.list if that makes sense and it is vm thank you
 
Best to enter the line manually on a V8 Golden.
Go menu--network config--press 6666 on remote--go to bottom line CS Protocol--click open and on top line locate mgcamd.
Your line will look something like this------
CWS:LOL:irattv.com 19986 fredsbox letfredin 0102030405060708091011121314
Now click on server [second line down] and you enter your line so---
host/address-------pirattv.com
Port-----------------19986
To port--------------[leave blank]
User----------------fredsbox
Password----------letfredin
Deskey-------------0102030405060708091011121314
Use menu button and ok to save and exit to new screen
Now use menu button and ok to apply
Exit to channels.

Press the green button to enter the 3 capitals, (E Q & Y), the 2 hyphens ( _ _) are accessed by pressing the PG+ button on remote.
Server Address m - h
Port 7 - 5
ID E - 0 (zero)
Password Q - Y

Entering lines is exactly the same for our Golden,Super,Max and Mini boxes irrespective of using cable or sat.

i'm not sure about cable but if everything is entered right it shouldn't, when it's connected it will say ecm ready.
