With Skybox you get what you pay for but having said that, I have no problem with mine---set up correctly and operating across from 30w to 42e.
Hardly any glitching [unless Murdoch gang play around] A good solid server and working very well. I also have more boxes working at friends houses ranging from F3s to dreams and all working great. most faults occur due to human error and not all people are technical in their thinking so like I said ---cheap but treated nice and set up correctly then they do the job that they were designed for. No one forced you or anyone else to purchase a Skybox so if you feel hard done by, have your opinion and leave others to their own.

Have just got an Openbox v8s and whilst researching how to set up found your input on this thread. I am keen to learn about the multi Sat capabilities of the v8s. What my objective is to have the capabilities to receive UK and ROI from Astra_28.2°E and BBC Satback from Intelsat 907_27.5°W. With a great deal of searching on this forum I have been able gather the necessary information to do this with an Icecrypt 1600 with two dish outputs combined in a DisEqc Switch, with the N-line for Astra and the BiSS keys for Intelsat running happily together. Providing a seamless solution! Well almost it has its disadvantages. There is only a "now and next" Epg for the Astra channels and none for the Intelsat (BBC etc), plus I have no fixed broadband so have to put my phone into tethering mode to run the N-line.
The Openbox looks like it may well be able to improve on the current set-up because of its XMLTV EPG auto download, and USB support for Mobile 3G internet, using Huawei Dongle.
My question is do you have any info on Openbox support for BISS and can it run the High symbol rate 9/10 used on the Intelsat transponder, BBC 11495 V 44100 9/10 Intelsat 907. Ta Pedrosol.
