The latest images require a password Vix Atv etc , may be that's why you never got past network error on Vix/willo


Gi to settings /network and create a new password

username is root.

Youll need to give the image a password before you go any further.

You can do this under

Menu-setup-system-network-password setup

Something like the above anyway not in front of a box

1,you just flashed 7.4?
2.where you adding username/password on the box , FTP!?, terminal? Putty?

Willobuild is for OpenVix

Turn the vpn off and connect the box and laptop to the home network then try.

You cannot run willobuild on openatv it needs to be openvix.

You have got a few threads running ,
We can't second guess what your trying to do

From looking you can't flash via usb?
Tried Openatv and putting willobuild on.

If you can Flash online via the box then get OpenVix flash it and then after setting up network/password , try and run Willobuild from the script in putty .
Don't have a VPN running

In the willobuild thread willo said it's all working, were you trying this with a VPN in the background

Often, the default username is root, and the password is either dreambox or left blank

MENU > SETUP > NETWORK > PASSWORD and setting a password and green to save

This the same issue and not fixed it

In the past I've had trouble setting the password the conventional method mentioned and had to do it like this:

Install plugin dreamexplorer from extension packages, navigate to etc/ passwd/ root:x: and use the right arrow to go just past the x, then use <PREV button to delete the x and enter a password of your choice and press ok.
