unable to locate 23.5E on multi feed dish

Having read the forums, I thought I would give 23.5E a go on my multi feed dish.
It is an 80cm solid dish with 3 lnbs currently receiving 13E, 19E & 28,2E.
All 3 of these receive a good strong signal (NW England).
However when I've tried moving the 28.2 lnb, I can't locate 23.5.
I tried removing 19E as well in case there was insufficient distance between lnbs, but even then I couldn't locate 23.5E.
I've been using my old humax 5300 to monitor the signal strength, because my spiderbox HD6000 has locked up on boot up. (I'm waiting to get a zgemma H2S, so I thought I would play with the humax in the meantime).
Can anybody shed any light on why I'm not finding any signal at all. thanks

hi try a different frequency. i tried 12344 h 29900 2/3 its fta and a good signal. on a motor.
hope this helps.
im in ireland at approx 53° N so might be similar location.

good luck.

i'll give that a go tomorrow weather permitting. I 12168V 27500 3/4 & 11934V 29900 2/3 without success. I'm about the same location at 53 degrees N, looking at signal charts I was expecting something similar to 28.2E in signal strength

both frequencies have good signal and some fta.
according to iphone app lnb skew should be
sat 28.2........-23.45° and
sat 23.5........-20.92°
sat 19.2........-18.41°
sat 16.0........-16.43°
sat 13.0........-14.49°
antilockwise looking at the dish.
hope this is of help to you or somebody.

you wont get 23e on a 65cm dish with either 19 or 28 LNBs on,
but, I would have thought there would be enough room on an 80
I can get 23.5 on a 65cm dish just North of Manchester, I got it by mistake while trying to find 19, so its definitely going to be there on an 80.

Well I've had another play with the lnb for my multi feed and still no joy. I got fed up balancing at the top of a ladder, so I thought I'd have a go at ground level with a spare zone 1 sly dish.
With the zone 1 dish I've satisfied myself that the satellite hasn't fallen from orbit. I can get a weak (40 -45%) signal on 12168V but nothing on 11934H or 12344H...

From your location you should get a reasonable signal on 23.5e but only on the dutch channels--you would be better using a 90--100cm dish with a single 0.1db lnb---this will bring in the czech and western channels with no problem---great selection of channels available such as Fox, Veronica, ZES,Viasat, Vier, AXN, SBS6 and 9 plus RTL and more--so good luck.
Reaper.

I might have a play with a zone 2 dish, which I have and see if it offers any improvement, before I venture up the ladder again.
Steptoe, I guess your 65cm dish was a single feed set up, rather than using a secondary focal point on a multi feed?
Reaper, I'm stuck with having to use my 80 cm dish [my wife won't let me have anything bigger :-( ]

no mate, I was trying to find 28 23 19 and 13
but I can confirm I dont think you can get 28 and 23 , or 19 and 23 on a 65cm dish, they are too close,
I do have 28 19 and 13 though [ 13 just about, more fine tuning to do ] on a 65cm

EDIT : you could probably get 28 and 23 if you aim between them , but as I wanted 19 primarily I was aiming for that so 23 was in between 28 and 19 and wasnt enough room to keep 19 central to also get 13

Hi again, maybe you could chance trying one of these lnb's, (the seller's from Spain - £6.11+ £8.50 UK delivery)
It comes with a 40mm adapter which would fit your lnb holder, it might give you enough space or it might not. There' a review here

teleaddict2000 - each of those frequencies (12168V,11934H,12344H), are giving me 85% signal quality on a 1M dish,
BBC News HD (11024 H) 28E is exactly the same - 85%.

thanks @mike142
but I need dual outputs at least,
I think I'm just asking too much tbh, lol.
I've just settled myself to trying to get an 80cm past the mrs at some stage where she wont notice,,,,,,

well I'm even more confused now. I've swapped the zone1 dish for a zone2 dish. The signal strength for 12168V has gone up to about 75-80%, but I cant get a thing on any other frequency (I've tried 10 different ones without success).
I'm wondering if its my receiver, but it works fine on 13E, 19E & 28.2E.

I've dug out my old spiderbox HD6000 and have managed to re-flash it (due to it failing to boot up). I've loaded it up with 28,2E, 23,5E, 19,2E & 13E and it has found more channels than my old humax box did on 23,5E.
Due to the age of the box the "gift" has long gone, so I'm trying to get my head round c-lines. Is this still an option to view channels on these 4 sats?

yes bud,
I can clear channels on all those, and 16e as well,
using a cline on an F5 and a CWS on an Edision,
btw, Im currently just tuned on 13 19 and 28

I used to have a Spiderbox HD6000 a couple of years ago, from what I remember it needs to be patched to load a c-line, I have a patch dated 30/1/2015
I sold channel lists for it on ebay & still have my own multisat channel list saved, it's over 2 years old so it would need updating,
These are the instructions I had at the time - To load the channel list put the usb in the front of the box, then go to - Menu - Software Update - S/W Upgrade, then arrow down , then go right & click on Multisat List & press Okay, the patch & line are loaded the same way, the c-line file can have any name as long as it ends in .cnd (eg - teleaddict.cnd)
Hope this helps.
