I hope Apple really fights this one. Apple may be a lot of things, but one thing they are VERY STRONG on is privacy. They've led the way lately with some things and have been known to always fight back on this stuff. Fingers crossed that keeps happening.

You can ask for a 'ban' on chip butties, or a 'ban' on red wellies but none of them will ever happen.
They demand these 'bans' every time they think people have forgotten that you can get dodgy tv through firesticks. Seriously, they are the only company that insist that everyone needs to know. Everyone else is trying to keep it quiet apart from Sky.
The US Gov few years back already asked Apple to give a backdoor into their OS, but Apple refused as it could be easily abused and in turn make their OS much less secure. So the UK can try but it won't happen.

Apple have already decided it will no longer be possible to activate advanced data protection in the UK.
Which was an opt in out feature that is no longer available UK.
It ended on the 28th of February.
